When the recreational event started the three just went to the lockers and lazied around since they were to lazy to do those stuff. Since they were given a choice why not use it? So that's why it they just ended up sleeping right around the corner but still tracking time tho. Before they knew it battle was already up

[Midorya Izuku Vs Shinso Hitoshi]
The round started as the two people chat a little bit. But then Midorya gets brainwashed by Shinso as he nears the edge of the ring. With one step to spare he managed to create a huge shock with the use of his fingers, which in turn managed to shock him.

"This is too reckless" Ojiro said as the events unfolded before his eyes

It allowed him to get out of his brainwashed state and immediately tackle Shinso and pushed him with some couple punches on his face to the edge of the ring. As a result the winner is Midorya

[Todoroki Shoto Vs Hanto Sero]
The match starts as Sero immediately goes in for an attack since it's probably the best plan for him to be able to deal with Todoroki.
As Sero was attacking Todoroki immediately countered with an immense ice attack. The three were quick to react as they blocked the ice that almost hit them. The ice attack that Todoroki let out was massive being able to cover half of the open area in the stadium.

"Sero can you still move?" Midnight asks as she too was half incased in ice

"What do you think? It hurts" Sero says being incased in ice

This immense attack of his immediately rendered Sero unable to attack or move at all since he's incased in ice. Making Todoroki the obvious winner. Funnily enough people started shouting 'don't mind it' at Sero because of the helpless situation he's currently in.

There was a break after this match since Todoroki's ice needed to melt

[Mina Ashido Vs Fumikage Tokoyami]
For this one Ashido was quite helpless sincere she really doesn't have a counter to Tokoyami's Dark shadow.

As the round starts Ashido ran towards Tokoyami only to be sent back by Tokoyami's Dark shadow. She kept dodging further and further away from Tokoyami since he has a lot of range. Ashido can only fire acid to which Tokoyami easily manages to deflect. Tokoyami kept moving towards Ashido and before she knew it she already was cornered and one step away from the white line of the ring. With this opportunity Tokoyami just attacked her via his quirk making Ashido fall and step outside the ring. Which obviously resulted in Tokoyami winning the match
