They all sat around a table eating what they had as breakfast when Rick came in explaining the situation
" Is your dad alright?" Lucas asked " He's been acting strange"
" Ever since my mom died he's just been distant. I think that's his way of coping. He hasn't even spent enough time with Judith. Judith spends most of her time with Beth"
" Well, at least he knows Judith is in good hands. "
" That's true " Carl shrugged " Im gonna go help Daryl," he said as he disappeared further into the prison
Lucas was left sitting alone once again. Sometimes he really missed his family. He wondered what it would be like if they were still around. Sure Glenn and Jessie were nice and all but he was still a kid. He had an idea of what Carl was going through.
But again he did Love Glenn and Jessie and had so much anxiety about Glenn and Maggie still missing. Lucas had to stay behind with Hershel and the kids while the adults went out to find Maggie and Glenn. All he could do was hope for the best.
" Cmon Lucas don't be a chicken" Carl shoved Lucas playfully
" Im not but its risky going down there without any adults around"
"psht. Carl and I know how to use guns" Jessie brushed off as she pulled out a gun "Let's go !" She laughed as she dragged Lucas along
Carl walked in front of them as they heard a struggle. They pulled their guns out ready to fire when they saw a group of 4 surrounded by walkers and an injured woman. Carl quickly shot a walker that one woman was trying to fight off.
" Oh god," Jessie whispered as she saw more walkers approaching. She quickly pushed Lucas back ready to run
"C'mon!" Carl shouted at the group leading them back to the safe part of the prison
" Hurry!" Jessie shouted after him
The group did just that as the kids led the way.
Once they got back to safety Carl realized the woman was injured and pointed the gun to her face but the group that was with her stopped him and began asking questions
" Who the hell are you kids? How did you get in here? Who are you with"
" Look we can help you," Carl explained ignoring all other questions " First things first" Carl pointed the gun back at the injured woman
" No, we take care of our own" A man with a blue beanie stopped him as he grabbed a hammer
" No Tyreese!"
" We gotta do it. Look just take Ben and lean against the wall. It'll be quick. " He explained
The three kids walked away from them as Carl shut the bars and locked them with the keys he had on him
" Hey! What are you doing?" The lady asked him
Beth walked over from all the commotion to see what was happening
" Kid, did you just lock us in here?
"Open the door " The woman demanded
" This room is secure. You'll be safe" Carl explained
" You have food and water" Jessie added
" Open this door" She demanded once more " We're not animals"
" I can't"
" Don't do this" She pleaded as Hershel came over
" Open this door!" She began to shout
