Jessies pov
I noticed my dad had been acting differently ever since Rick had returned.
He didn't seem himself anymore. Since then we have lost people from our group and things just kept falling apart. I tried to stay hopeful like Glenn always told us to. But I don't know how much longer I could fake a smile.
/ regular pov/
Their cars ran out of gas. They were stuck in the middle of nowhere. As they stood around thinking of solutions Lucas grabbed hold of Glenn's hand.
"Alright yall just look around. Gather what you can"
"Jess. Here take this" Shane said as he handed her a gun
" You can't be serious. Handing a little girl a gun" Carol argued
" She knows how to use it"
Jessie went on her own to try and look for supplies
"Hey, Carl. Always within my sight. Okay?" Lori reminded him
Carl nodded
" You too Sophia " Carol added
Lucas stuck by Glenn's side the entire time
Suddenly they were surrounded by walkers
Everyone was instructed to get down
They thought the herd had passed but just as Sophia was getting out a walker saw her and went after her
Lucas felt his breath shaken
They all waited for Rick and Daryl to get back to Sophia
" What if she's dead?" Lucas asked
" Shut up. She is not" Jessie smacked his arm
"ouch. I was just asking "
Still no sign of her

The next day they were off to find Sophia again
Shane took Jessie's gun away and gave her a knife instead " Can't risk it"
"She coming with?" Glenn asked
" Yeah not taking my chances that Dale will be able to protect her"
" Lucas you are staying here" Glenn sighed
Carl was meant to stay but he wanted to go. Seemed like Lucas was the only kid staying back
" I had it fixed yesterday" Dale confessed
"What? What was all that rubbing and sanding for then? That just bullshit?" T-Dog asked
"Yeah that's one word"
Lucas entertained himself by listening to those two talk
" Just bullshit" Lucas whispered to himself
There it was. Carl was shot
A random girl on a horse showed up " Lori? Lori Grimes?" "Rick sent me, you gotta come now"
"What?" Lori asked
"There's been an accident. Carls has been shot. He's still alive but you gotta come now. Rick needs you. Just come"
