The sound of light radio static and that annoying dial noise was beginning to make Liam and Bryce lose their shit. They had been flipping through different worlds for ages and were getting ready to give up. The idea they would get everyone back from The Plane was beginning to seem like a shot in the dark. Hopeless. However, it was comforting for Liam to know he wasn't alone. He had Bryce, even if he was less hopeful. He seemed like a bit of light in the dark.
"...Bryce?"
Liam broke the deafening silence, but he mostly just wanted to hear Bryce's voice.
"Yeah?"
"Do you think we'll be able to get everyone out of The Plane?"
Bryce sighed.
"Liam, that's like the fifth time you've asked me that. The answer is I DON'T KNOW."
Liam frowned. He wanted to have hope, but he was starting to agree that this seemed like a lost cause. Bryce noticed this and sighed in pity.
"Listen, Liam... it's just that we've been at this for hours... a-and I don't know if we can do this. What if Scenty is just stuck there? She's our friend, and everyone there deserves a chance to return home. It's a lot of pressure. I don't want to get stuck again! I don't-"
Bryce was cut off by Liam hugging him, a warm embrace.
"What!? What is this!? What is this!?!?!?"
"Something your father clearly never gave you, a hug..."
"...AAAAAAA-"
After Bryce stopped SCREAMING, the two sat back down.
"Bryce?"
"Yeah, Liam?"
"...you and I can do this. I know it. Back on The Plane you were always helping me out. I know we'll help Scenty and the others."
Bryce half-smiled and held Liam's hand.
"Thanks..."
"Gay."
