What made you leave?
Me:
It was close to 4.
Aurelia:
Since when does that matter?
I sighed. If there was anyone who knew me better than I did, it was the girls.
Me:
Wasn't feeling it anymore.
Aurelia:
Someone definitely gave you shit.
It wasn't those bitches right?
I started to type back, until . . .
Did you hook with one of the 🥵 new boys?
I tapped send.
Me:
No
It wasn't a lie. I didn't hook up with anyone last night. The three dots appeared and I waited a good minute before her text came in.
Aurelia:
Let's go out tonight.
Me:
We just got back from a party, Lia.
I'm sure you're still hungover.
Her reply was quick.
Aurelia:
So?
I thought for a moment and while I did, Ben texted me. Almost on impulse, I scowled. There were only two reasons why he'd text me and both of them sucked.
Ben:
Need you in tonight, angel.
Ugh . . . fuck my life. I bang my head against the window sill behind me. Another text came in.
Aurelia:
Let's have fun bitch.
Last night was suppose to be fun, I'm unsure whether it was. But, it wasn't absolutely terrible. If I said no to Ben, I'd be risking losing my job and I couldn't let that happen. So, I just had to work myself around it.
Me to Ben:
I can't do all night.
I was briefly relieved by how fast he was at replying.
Ben:
Your pay will be cut.
I gritted my teeth. He sent another text.
But it can be made up for
Be here at 10 sharp.
