I finally understood what Avarice meant when he told Trevor that trying to fight Damien would be a waste of time.
"Don't worry about it," I said, turning and placing my feet on the floor.
"Lisa, you okay?" Naomi asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine now," I responded.
"Good, well remember, since Avarice has a full team now, we're kinda in a rush, so we can't take too long with introductions," she advised.
"I'm guessing this has something to do with what happened the other day," Damien inferred.
"Yes," I replied, then proceeded to quickly introduce myself and explain the gist of our situation before asking him for his help.
Damien sat cross-legged and leaning forward on the edge of his desk as he examined my spirit energy. Based on his expression, he seemed fascinated by its uniqueness.
"Why is your energy so different compared to other humans'" he asked curiously.
"Because I'm a descendant of The First Primordial," I answered honestly. "I carry more of her DNA than any other human has in a very long time."
"The First Primordial? I've never heard of them; who's that?" he asked next.
"As Naomi mentioned, we're really in a rush," I told him politely. "Everything can be explained in detail back at HQ if you agree to come with us."
"I see. One more thing; based on Naomi's interaction with you, I'm guessing you're supposed to lead the collection of us against whatever threat is out there," Damien responded as he considered everything.
After quietly pondering for a minute, he hopped off his desk.
"I'll go," he said. "But, sorry, I don't acknowledge you as someone capable of leading me. Not at the moment, anyway. I'm not against a human leading me, though, so for now, I'll tag along, even if only to see Tymon and gauge whether your potential is worth following."
He gave me a dazzling smile as he pulled out a dark coat and a white hat.
"Don't fail to impress me," he said with a wink.
Do not worry; Damien is easy to work with. As you will see in time, he is really quite supportive, Viraa stated humorously. Knowing him, he most likely intended to help you the moment he saw you with Naomi. Those two have often thought similarly, so it is not a stretch to assume he sees the same potential in you that she does. Just know that he'll be observing you closely.
That's a relief. At least I can still have room to improve. I was hoping he wasn't another Michael, I said jokingly.
"Smile. Bring out the cheerful Naomi," I heard Damien say as he poked at her sides, teasing Naomi as she stood with her arms crossed.
"She's not comfortable in this degenerate place of yours," Naomi retorted as she swatted his hand away from her.
"Aw, don't say that..."
"Well, if we're all ready, we should probably be leaving," Trik announced impatiently. "I'd like to leave here as well."
I didn't know this place bothered him that much.
"Yeah, let's head back," I said as we prepared to leave.

Fun fact: Even though Damien is the Lust Primordial and runs such an exotic entertainment center, he never touches anyone. It's mostly his presence that gives humans that pleasurable high they seek from his establishment. Due to personal reasons, he's only ever been with one person.
