Last minute decision

We arrive at the beach and the teachers hand out fresh swim suits to the kids who didn't bring their own,I already had one myself so I didn't take one

All the other kids went and put a small blanket or a shirt on the sand to sit on since it was really hot,I didn't bother to tan or sit to eat or drink anything

My eyes scanning the beach for my friends or girlfriend but before I can I feel a pair of arms wrap around my stomach from behind

I looked down at the hands and almost immediately recognised who it belonged to

Soft skin a ring on their index finger with somewhat long pink nails,their fingers interviewed with each other as they pull me closer towards them from behind

"oh my gosh you scared me-"

I say turning my head towards my girlfriend

"sorryyyy,I missed you so much,I had to go the entire bus ride with this stupid ass girl from our class,don't get why we can't pick our own partners"

"hmm,I would come talk to you last night but I was tired and besides we had to get some sleep in our system for today"

"I know I know,but I still missed you,let's go I heard the water is really chill"

"you go ahead I'll join you in a bit"

"alright!"

She lets go of my stomach and rushes into the water as she calls out to her friends

I turn my body to the ocean my eyes still scanning around as in to look for something,or someone,but I didn't know what I was looking for

After a bit of scanning I eventually join my girlfriend in the water but eventually get out,I felt a bit drained and tired,even tho I slept fine last night

I lay on the sand my hands behind my head resting my eyes

The sound of others yelling and laughing fills my ears followed by the continuous sound of the water rising to shore

For a second,everything felt,peaceful,I felt relaxed,like a heavy weight was lifted from my shoulders,a feeling I haven't felt in forever

And for a second I could feel all my worries,stress,anxiety,sadness,fear and rage leave me,I just felt,free

The feeling was pleasant,really pleasant,and with the chill and cold-ish wind brushing against my body and face,the shadow from the umbrella above me covering my face preventing the sun hitting me in the face I felt my eyes slowly get heavier and heavier as I got closer to falling asleep

But all of that fades away as I hear a blood curling scream echo through my ears

Startled and worried I sit up my eyes no longer heavy with tiredness scanning around the beach to find the source of the scream only to find a few of other girls along side with my girlfriend on the edge of the shore yelling and pointing to the water

My eyes shift to where they were pointing towards,squinting my eyes to see past the sun only to find
