Chapter 12: eyes don't lie

(Sorry for taking forever to post I lost motivation, and I absolutely had no idea what to write)

2-week time jump (the day before court day)
Saanvi
Saanvi decided to go to see Ben because she had a realization moment that the man might've been him, and also because she really wanted to see Ben. She decided to go to the house to see Grace open the door.

"Saanvi?" Grace said after opening the door.

"Yes, Is uh Ben here?"

"Why is it because of Cal?"

"No..." she hesitated.

"I don't know where he is he left about 2 weeks ago."

"You're not in contact with him?"

"I haven't talked to him in 2 weeks."

"So you don't know where he is?"

"What did I just say, I said I don't know where he is!"

"Okay! Fine, I'll figure it out myself."

"Fine," Grace said shutting the door.

Saanvi walked back to her car and thought of one person who might know where he just was.

"Hey..." Saanvi said.

"Saanvi?" Michaela said.

"Um, I need to talk to Ben do you know where he is? He's not at the house."

"He lives in an apartment now, did he not tell you?"

"No, I haven't talked to him."

"Why not just call him?" Mick asked.

"I did, but he's not answering."

"Fine, I'll give you the address, and you can talk to him. He has a lot going on, so that's why he might not be answering."

"Like what?"

"It's not my business to tell."

"Uh okay, thanks."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."

After Saanvi hung up the phone, she got the address to Ben's apartment and drove away. When she arrived at the apartment complex she went to his apartment and knocked on the door. Waiting. After a few minutes went by the door was opened by Olive.

"Olive?" Saanvi asked confused.

"Yeah, that's me."

"What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" Olive asked.

"I'm looking for Ben."

"I'm living with my Dad."

"Oh, so Is your dad here or not?"

"Yeah, I'll go get him... Dad!" Olive yelled.

"What?" He yelled back.

"It's Saanvi!"

"Oh, okay, coming!"

"There. Now he should be coming soon. What's so important anyway? He came to see you like 2 weeks ago does this have anything to do with it?"

Olive stared at Saanvi's eyes, and Saanvi quickly noticed.

"What?" She asked.

"Your eyes lit up when I mentioned my dad."

"What... they didn't"

"Eyes don't lie, Saanvi. Eyes. Don't. Lie."

"He did? He came to see me?" Saanvi asked ignoring what Olive just said.
