CHAPTER 2 : Long time no see... my skateboard

What else could be worser than this? I turned it on and dialled my butler's number. I sighed in relief when he immediately answered it.

"Pick up my car, now!" I coldly said and quickly ended the call. So, I don't have to worry about it. Tss,

I put back my phone inside my pocket and position my self. My left foot remains on my skateboard while the other is on the ground. I heaved a deep sigh before making my first move. Hooh! This is it! After a long time, I will be able to use my skateboard. Using my right foot I push it to move forward not minding all the people looking at on my direction. Gano'n ba talaga ako kaganda? What the hell, Aevy?... ang hangin mo. Tsk

Or is it because of my outfit? Napatingin naman ako sa suot ko. I'm wearing a white crop-top paired with black skinny jeans, and a white sneaker. If you're wandering why they're white when in fact dark colors are my fav. Well I have decided to wear something with white color since I'm going to attend a class.

And since I'm wearing a crop-top, my flat stomach is visible at pansin ko ang mga malilikot nilang mata mula rito dahil sa suot ko. Seriously, hindi naman masyadong agaw pansin itong suot ko ah or maybe not? Whatever, tsk.

I skated smoothly, not minding the cars that's been blocking my way. While skating, I also pays attention to which foot I'll use to step forward from a still, standing position. The foot I put back to catch my balance is the one that should go on the tail of my skateboard while riding. Downhill skateboarding is all about speed. There aren't any fancy tricks involved. Just like downhill skiing, the objective here is to finish a run with the lowest time, and at the highest speed. And that's what I'm doing right now.

I uses one of the tricks in skateboarding which is the Ollie, —a simple jump that allows a skateboarder to gain air (as in vert skating), and hop over or onto obstacles while riding.

I kicks the tail of my board to the ground, and leaps into the air. Leaving the front foot resting on the board as I jumps, I brings my rear foot up to the height of the other. The board pops up beneath me and catches up to my feet. But I just ignored it.  Cool nga eh, and I like what I'm doing.

(*Evil smile~) Ang bad mo talaga kahit kailan Aevy. Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Hayysss... finaly,

***

I sighed in relief when I gotten myself out from that long traffic jam. Knowing that shameless prick, he never makes me fail in everything. That's why I really trust him a lot because he's the only one who understands me most of the time. I treat him like one of my family, a brother perhaps.

I should do this more often, it seems fun.

In recent decades, skateboarding was associated with the punk rock scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Skateboarders came to be known as radical individuals -- a rebellious youth subculture with a death wish. Skateboarders were stereotyped as criminals, known for destroying property and despising authority. But not all skaters fit the old stereotype, and in many ways this persona is only a caricature. Today's skateboarders aren't associated with any one style of music or clothing (or with crime, for that matter). And not all of them are young anymore. Long-time professionals, like Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen and Steve Caballero, have skated well into their 30s and 40s.

Vert skateboarding is all about catching big air and performing technical tricks before landing. It gets its name from the vertical structures and surfaces vert skaters ride, like half-pipes (large ramps with two inclines on both sides and a flat section in the middle) quarter-pipes and bowls (sort of like wooden swimming pools built especially for skateboarding). Vert skaters have also been known to invade backyards to skate emptied swimming pools, and hop fences to skate in concrete canals and drainage ditches.
