It's been a few years now. Mitch says in human years he's around thirteen, and I'm around seventeen. One year under adult human age, but way above adult wolf age when converted. We were walking back to the Library we've been going to. I had learned a lot about humans with Mitch. I was then snapped out of thought when I heard Mitch scream. "MITCH!" I say in Human; having learned it from him.

"JEROME HELP ME! WOLVES!" My eyes widen. The closet wolf pack was my old pack that I haven't seen in many moons. I ran to his screams to find the pack surrounding him.

"GET AWAY FROM THE HUMAN!" I growl in wolfish. They look at me in shock. I look at them. I was way bigger than them for whatever reason. I run over to Mitch and check him as they all back away scared. "Are you ok Mitch?" I ask. He nods and shows me his small claw marks and nips. I turn around and look at them when the female wolves finally got here.

"Leave this area! You're not welcome here!" I yell. The females look at me like I've shown more authority then they've seen. When I notice one walk towards me. I growl and she stops. She was older, almost an elder.

"I said leave!" She looks at me shocked.

"Jerome, my firstborn?" She sounded like my mom and I calmed down confused.

"Mom?" She smiles and runs over and tackles me and licks my ears and nuzzles me. "Moooooooom stop it!" I whine. This causes her to laugh.

"I missed you. Your dad said you died. Also, he's....." But I cut her off before she could finish.

"I know. I watched it. I went hunting for food for Mitch and ran into it." She looked at me and her eyes lit up in realization.

"So you're the lone wolf we hear around here on Moon Day." I nod.

"He left you here and you still morn him." Another wolf said. Again I nodded. Then I feel like something is missing. I look around and notice Mitch walking off with his head down like a hurt pup. I run after him.

"MITCH!" He stops and turns around. "Where are you going?"

"I was going to see if I could find a village of humans. You seem fine now with your pack back with you. You don't need me here. I don't want to be a problem."

"Your not. You are my friend and family. We raised each other. I would have been like all other wolves if not for you." He smiles, then I'm nuzzled forward. I look behind me to see my mom. I look at her confused.

"You have my blessing." Is all she said before walking away to the pack. But it still left me confused. Blessing for what?
