DURING THE LAST WEEKEND, MAYA DIDN'T SHARE A room with anyone which was simply out of the ordinary. She hadn't given anyone the spare key to the hotel room as well so when Hanan came to pick her up she had though that she made it to the track already.

Yas Marina was hot that morning but cold at the same time. The tension was already high as it is with Max and Lewis both fighting for the championship having put on an amazing performance ever since the year started. So HQ thought, hoped, Maya was just at the gym distracting herself.

On the other hand, Daniel had woken up alone not used to the lack of company of his girlfriend in bed. He pushed himself up and ran his fingers through his hair glancing at the empty spot like she would be there when he knew he'd walked her to her room the night before.

He got up and took a shower letting his hair get super wet before stepping out of the well deserved cold shower. He quickly changed and headed to breakfast where he'd sat with Lando, both Max's, and Scotty.

"Have you guys seen Mai?" Mick had asked when he'd come to sit at their table, "I haven't seen her since last night."

"She said she'd be at the grid super early today so she's probably there, let's not get all worried there's already enough tension as it is." Daniel spoke up

They all went silent after that but there was that nagging pain, that feeling that something was wrong and they all felt it. When he glanced at Seb and Kimi, he knew they felt it too but he couldn't tell if the feeling was because of Max vs Lewis or something else.

THEY SOON ARRIVED AT THE CIRCUIT AND WENT straight to find the girl they'd all been looking for. Low and behold, there she was standing beside Ryan with sweat rolling down making her hair stick on her forehead.

"We've been looking everywhere for you, why'd you leave without telling us?"

"Oh I'm sorry, Ryan drove me. I just wanted to get the work in before the race later today."

"You scared us, don't do that again." George wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her close before walking towards the boys with her.

She was glad Lando and Daniel had settled their differences thanks to her locking the two of them in a room but they still couldn't stand the other, it was mutual respect. They sat together making sure the girl ate and was happy with how she felt at that moment.

It was right in front of them yet they couldn't see no matter how much they tried. She was skittish and her eyes darted more than usual, she was tense but so was everyone, so they all brushed it off.

It was the final round of Lewis vs Max. Of course they're bound to be tense.

The group of friends glanced at each other before looking at their phones.
