"WHY WOULD YOU LIE TO NICHOLAS?" I yelled at Silvestre as we both made our way to the morgue.

"To buy you time. Time that will not be speculated by him."

"Thank you for coming on such short notice to sir."

"Please Sandy, you know you can call me Silvestre."

"Yes. Anyway, Silvestre...do you know anything about The Death Gross Gang?"

"I was part of the previous team when we caught that teenager. I was doing some paper work that time. Behind the scenes work. I only remember how they threw the boy in the cell and didn't give him any food or water for two days straight because he refused to talk."

I looked at Silvestre carefully, before opening the door of the morgue.

"He only kept telling the cops over and over again... he was doing everyone a favor and there was one more thing about him-oh-but I'll tell you I may be old but I have the image of him engraved in my head."

I giggled and entered the morgue.

Inside the medical examiner stood with a white coat flipping through pages attached to a clipboard.

Silvestre coughed.

The lady looked at up at us.

"Oh the great Silvestre and the Miss Detective Jewls! Here to ask even more questions about the body vanishing? Ahh, you authorities are a burden to sit with." she said showing us into a room where the Mayor's body was.

His body was covered from head to ankle with a white sheet. You could see the plump outline of the once living man.

Or maybe scoundrel of a man who had only enough dignity to where in public.
But in private sell his daughter in marriage to settle his debt.

Better dead...I thought.

Silvestre lead the questions.
I recorded.

"What time did the body go missing?"

"1 am."

"Was there any security?"

"A little. Security at the entrance but there was little people around. I wasn't even in. I was on my way as soon as I got the call however the body was gone before I arrived. I only checked the Mayor's and I confirmed he was killed my gunshot."

"Are you sue?"

"Yes I've had plenty of time to check...since I've been waiting to check the body of his daughter, Stephanie. It's funny. She's still roaming around. Not ready to go to the grave just yet."

I checked the time and nudged Silvestre.

We said our thanks and left to the church.

---

"When were Stephanie and her groom to be married?" I began asking the Church Minister.

"The day after her birthday, according to our Mayor's schedule. He seemed in a hurry to marry her off."

Silvestre nodded.

"What do you know of her groom? Name? Status? House address? Family relations? Any information would be appreciated."

The man scratched his scalp, "If I recall correctly-Umm in fact-"

He looked around and leaned in. Then whispered, "The Mayor was planing to marry his little girl off for a price in return."

"We know that. How do you though?" asked Silvestre.

"I heard the Mayor on the phone a couple of times. Never listened to the entire conversation though."
