If he doesn't yield, that is.

Let me speak to him, you say after calming down a little. If he doesn't change his mind, then... Your words trail off, but both of your familiars know exactly what you mean.

Very well, Heishe says. Daimon stays quiet, presumably keeping himself from saying something harsh. We will wait here.

You give them a quick nod before you turn around once more to face the door. After approaching it a second time, you lift your hand and knock gently, then you bring your lips to the wood so the young male can hear you clearly.

"I don't know your name, but I'm sorry if we scared you", you start.

The house stays quiet, and you take that as a sign to continue.

"I promise neither me nor my familiars will hurt you. If you revoke the contract with the Seven Sins for us, we will leave you unharmed and just go our way without bothering you ever again. I promise."

You put all the imploration you can muster into your words, then you raise your head and wait. It takes a while before there's movement behind the door, and when it opens once more, the glance from the man's eyes seems a little less hateful.

For a second, that is, because then he flings the door open and lunges at you. His hands are clasped around the hilt of a long silver knife whose blade is surrounded by a faint, blue shimmer, and he aims for your heart as he rushes towards you.

It's the first time a human attacks you, and the first thing that comes to your mind is how ridiculously slow he is. He moves as if he's under water and it's almost too easy for you to take a simple step to the side to avoid his attack, but even if you didn't, he'd stand no chance of reaching you.

Before the young man can even process that you evaded him at all, Daimon has his arm slung around his neck and middle while Heishe has shoved himself in front of you protectively, twisting the knife from his fingers with a quick movement.

"No step further", your panther whispers into his ear. You have no idea how he knew where the male was when he couldn't see him, but suddenly, you are grateful that the two of them were more suspicious than trusting.

Heishe turns the blade in his hands, then holds it out for you to see. But when you reach for it, intrigued by its blue gleam, he gently pushes your fingers back. "No", he says quietly. The gaze from his golden eyes is firm. "You cannot touch this."

"But why?", you ask, curiously eyeing the otherwise rather simple weapon, and he breathes out sharply. The young man in Daimon's arms struggles against his grip, but he doesn't stand a chance against his supernatural strength.

"It's made from Agêllon. Celestial metal." Heishe waves the knife in front of your face. "Weapons made from this metal are the only weapons that can ever hurt a demon, and fatally so. And as ironic as it may be, they are hellishly sharp." He stops his waving and looks you in the eyes. "So remember their blue glow. It's invisible to humans, but we can see it quite easily. Anything that has it, run from it. Avoid it at all costs."

You nod, lost for words, while he tucks the weapon behind the flap in his clothes where he had formerly hidden the daggers that he gave to you. "They must have handed it down in the family, to defend themselves against any supernatural beings that might come for them", he says while he does so. "Truly remarkable."

Daimon scoffs, his arm tightens around the young man's throat, to which the latter gasps. "Yeah", he agrees. "Remarkably stupid. Who bothers themselves with that for so long?"

"People who are terrified, I presume", Heishe murmurs as he looks back up. His glance lands on the young male in Daimon's grip. "Fear goes a long way."
