Sasha Pov

When we made it to the street, we heard loud music. When we pulled into Tommy's driveway, I saw balloons that said congrats senior. It was even a large graduation portrait of me beside the picture prop. The prop was large and had more celebratory balloons on it. It was decorated beautifully. All my friends were here. But not my family. That made me a little sad. How could my mom miss one of the most important days of my life?

"What's wrong?" Tommy asked. He always knows when I'm in a mood.

"I thought my family would swallow their pride and come to my graduation. Deasia isn't even here, and I don't know why. I didn't do anything to her."

"Fuck them. You don't need them." He said that like it's easy to forget your family.

"Just try to enjoy yourself. The people that care about you are here. This is phase 1 of your gifts."

I smiled. I loved receiving gifts from him.

"Really. What else Imma get."

"It's a surprise."

He kissed me and walked over to his friends. I went over to my friends and started talking and dancing. We took pictures. There were even dipped strawberries. I was on a cloud until a chicken head came into the yard and started talking to Tommy. How the fuck do these hoes know where his mama lives. I already know he keep his mama's old house to fuck bitches.

I caught him and his crew one night running a train on two ghetto skanks. They are all hoes. I didn't speak to him for weeks behind that shit. Either he got better at hiding it or he really left them hoes alone because I haven't caught him in a while. Now it looks like I will be going to jail again if she doesn't get out of his face.

When he reached into his pocket and pulled out some money and gave it to her, I started marching over there. But he was already leading her over to my direction.

"Sasha, this is Melody. She decorated your party. She's a party planner."

"Oh. Thank you. You did great."

She nodded. "I'm glad you enjoyed it." When she walked off I turned to him.

"You were about to start some shit wasn't you." I made a face that says you better know it. "I was."

"Why you gotta be so insecure?"

"Because you made me that way. Now where's my other gifts?" I bounced a little. I love when he gives me stuff. I like when it's the small stuff. I feel uncomfortable when he buys me expensive stuff because I know that I can't afford to buy him anything expensive. Everything I've bought him has been from Walmart.

He's bought me pajamas. Aloe socks. Leather bracelets. I love them all.

"Your gifts are not here. Are you ready to go?"

I nodded. I ran and told everyone bye. Especially Hope and Mrs. Pam.

When we got into the car Tommy started to look nervous. Something that I've never known him to be. He is confident, assertive and bold.

I thought we were heading to the art gallery. But he took a right 2 blocks before we made it there. We pulled up to a brownstone townhouse apartment building. Outside there were 4 buttons to buzz someone up. So I'm guessing it's four apartments in this building. He pulled out some keys and opened the main door. We took the stairs to the 2nd floor.

I really tried to avoid asking too many questions.

We made it to the apartment door. He opened it with a key as well. We walked into an empty apartment. It was huge. A large foyer. A long hallway. A kitchen to the left. I walked down the hall. To the right was a living room. To the left was a dining room. Further down is a hall bathroom. Past that is a hall closet. I kept walking. Then I made it to a massive bedroom. I turned everywhere. A large bathroom. A walk-in closet. To the left of that was floor to ceiling glass doors. I opened the doors and walked out to a balcony.
