EZEKIEL

Today was so damn hectic that I didn't even get the time to leave my office yet I somehow managed to finish all my work on time which means I can go home.

Exiting my office, I didn't look down and almost tripped on something.

Frowning, I bent down to pick up the bouquet of flowers lying there. Who...

My eyes narrowed on the small note hidden between the flowers and I pulled it out.

'I love you, Eeel.'

I should be focusing on those three words where my wife told me that she loves me instead, my head snapped towards Edgar's desk.

"Why is it lying here? Why didn't you tell me?"

He slowly stood up. "Mrs Vandeleur left it there and I did pick it up but I accidentally read the note and I thought that it is supposed to be a surprise hence I didn't inform you."

Chiara was here. And she left abruptly. Fuck.

"When was she here?" I gritted out, clenching the bouquet in my hand.

"Just before lunch, I guess...you were in a meeting with Mr Gulliver."

Fuck. Fuck. She definitely heard us.

Hastily, I walked in the direction of the elevator.

"Sir, what's wrong?" Edgar called from behind but I ignored him.

I took the elevator down to the parking lot and walked towards my car.

I came to a halt when the space where I parked my car was empty. What the fuck?

Where is my car?

I was about to call Edgar and question him but something cold and hard hit me on the back of my head.

And the world turned dark.

.
.
.

My head was throbbing and I forced myself to open my eyes, my body felt restricted and tied up.

Soon my eyes adjusted to the lightning and zeroed in on the two figures in front of me. "You have got to be kidding me", I said in disbelief.

Marcelo stood with his arms folded across his chest while Silvio leaned against the wall looking bored.

I was tied up to a chair like some kidnapper in their basement. Marcelo cocked his head. "You are lucky we haven't killed you. Yet."

I pursed my lips and looked around trying to find some ways to escape these psychopaths. I can't believe Silvio flew over from New York for this.

"Where's Cyrus?" I asked.

"Your brother won't save you. After hearing about what you did, he is on our side."

"This is all a big misunderstanding." I hissed.

"Is it?" He glared at me, walking closer. "I warned you, didn't I? I told you not to make her cry but you failed."
