don't tell me you have never fallen in love
you say you have never fallen
in love, but how can that be?
how can you not see the world
that I see? how could you never
have loved a beautiful sunset
after a rainy day? how have
you never fallen for a starry
night in late October, when the
skies finally cleared enough
for miracles to unfold?
don't tell me you have never
experienced the bliss of having
coffee at a new café and fallen
in love with the smells. don't
tell me you haven't fallen head
over heels with that dress you
saw in a shop once but knew
you could never afford. don't
tell me you haven't fallen in
love with the feeling of
satisfaction after waking up
early to catch a beautiful
sunrise.
don't tell me you didn't leave a
part of your heart in those
green mountains you visited, or
that beach you once went to.
don't tell me a part of you still
doesn't reside in that one
restaurant where you had the
most delicious food you've ever
tasted. don't tell me you
haven't fallen in love with the
happiness you felt from the
first rain after a long and hot
summer.
falling in love doesn't
have to be painful. love
can be a culmination of so
many little things. love
can be so beautiful.
falling in love does not
have to end with you in
pieces.
// love can be so beautiful, if you let it be.
