"Come on Reese, you have to try it. We have been friends for a while now and every time I bring up this, you always brush it off."
"Am going to kill him then I'll hang his dead skinny body on the walls of my house like a fossil in a museum."
"Can you please stop murdering your salad, are you even listening to me?"
"Tracy, filling my body with fat is the last thing on my mind. Do you know how long it took for me to get the yellow paint out of my hair?"
"I know your beautiful silky black hair must have gone through a lot. What shampoo do you use."
"First of all, your obsession with my hair is becoming quite unhealthy Tracy. Nobody can rock this hair like I do. Second, I am the one in distress here, I had to spend 3 long hours scrubbing and wasting all my shampoo to get the paint out of my hair."
Can you imagine I had friends. I even had ones who thought covering me in yellow paint was funny.
"Hey beautiful ladies looking dashing as ever. Hi Reese. You have a little yellow stain on your hair."
Troy Mackenzie, apart from my father, he had to be the only the other person who dared to challenge me in anything.
"Oh, thanks Tony, I wouldn't want to walk around here with paint in my hair."
I can't imagine he dumped a whole bucket of yellow paint on me and posted it on his Instagram.
"ITS TROY!!!"
But just like the way he knew where to hit me that I bled, I also knew how to make him bleed to.
"Hey Leon, what's got you all sad today?"
My relationship with Leon is not exactly where I want it to be but we are heading there.
"I don't want to talk about it. Can we talk about something else even if its how Troy dumped a bucket of paint all over you."
"Oh yeah!!! I did do that. I almost forgot."
Troy said laughing.
Its not the first time Leon has come to school in a bad mood or with a bruise somewhere he thinks nobody will see. But I do see them, he tries to hide them but I was blessed with amazing genes of being observant.
"Oh my gawd! Hana is here."
Something I learned while being friends was the reason why Leon has to pretend he has a girlfriend and that was because of your certified number one basic bitch. HANA.
"Hi Leon."
How was I smelling her perfume while she was like 5 seats away from me.
"I don't have time for you Hana, can you please just go away."
"What, are you afraid that the black bitch we'll scold you?"
I never engaged with her because seriously speaking, she was not my competition. What I would use to describe her is desperate because if Leon was going through the trouble of having a fake girlfriend because of her, that screamed more desperate rather than competition.
She never before dragged anyone to her talks with Leon and I mainly just watched instead of engage all due to entertainment reasons.
I guess she got tired of Leon's attitude and I expected Leon to defend Tracy but he just sat there while Troy and the rest of his friends did it for him.
"........ and that's very racist and huh!!!"
As I watched the smoothie I had poured on her drip from her hair to her face then her outfit, I smiled.
" ' Black bitch' 'Black bitch'?? What's this? 1865 when racism earned you money?
Can't you take a hint, nobody likes you. Do you know how psychotic you sound going around calling someone a 'black bitch'?
You have a shitty personality, your grades are mediocre and you have slept with nearly half the population of this school. Do you know how we describe such a person, PATHETIC. And if you think dumping smoothie all over you is my worst then you should try looking up my name....... "
By now everybody in the cafeteria was looking at us as I took a step towards her and whispered into her ear.
".......take away my friends' peace of mind, and that includes Troy, and I will take away your ability to breath."
I picked up my bag then walked up to Leon then slapped him. I could hear people gasp.
"But you can keep him. He's all yours, you fit each other so well."
I can't believe he just sat there while his best friend was being bullied because of him. It doesn't matter how shitty his day was, he was supposed to protect his friend because if he didn't, people would take that as a free pass to treat her the same all in the name of helping him.
"Reese wait! Reese please....."
"I'll have to stop you there Leon, you were supposed to protect Tracy. Did you know that when I first met Tracy, she was using make up to cover up the fact that she was black because of all the bullying she was going through?
She just got bullied because of you.
She's receiving all this hate because of you and she can't even see it because of how blind she is in love with you. And instead of being there for her and stopping all the hate she's getting, you just sat there and watched it happen."
Tracy was doing all of this all in the name of love and the person she was doing all this for didn't even acknowledge her efforts.
"Am sorry okay. I'm really having a bad day and---"
"I don't care if the world was ending Leon. And the fact that you are even apologizing to me speaks how you still don't understand anything.
Don't you still get it. She's being bullied because she's pretending to be your girlfriend. Her self esteem is low now because she's being kicked down because of YOU!!!!
Don't talk to me until you have made everything right. If this is what it means to stay by your side then I need to rethink my decisions."
Tracy was hurting herself and she didn't even notice and Leon didn't care because he was only using her to keep Hana away. That's why love was a very dangerous master.
