-Newfound Muse-

A ray of sunlight immediately struck my eyes as I sat up straight with a jolt. Squinting my eyes, I waited for them to adjust to the bright encirclings. My chest heaved as I struggled to breathe. I could feel the sweat dripping down my skin, drop by drop.

My eyes swiftly rolled over the surroundings. A wave of relief washed over me, realising that I was still in the comforts of my room. So I wasn't kidnapped by the woman, who happened to resemble the supposed person I had seen in the woods earlier... I thought, sighing out of relief.

"Babe? Is everything alright?" Sabrina's high pitched voice reached my ears, tailed by the sound of footsteps. Though I was so deeply rooted in my thoughts, I couldn't bring myself to answer her.

"Abel?" I felt her hand against my shoulder as she sat down beside me.

"I'm- I'm fine," I craned my neck to her direction, focusing my ocean blue eyes in her hazel ones as I forced a smile across my face. "I just had a bad dream. But I'm fine now," I excused. I was very well aware it was of no use to narrate my dream to her. So I chose to remain silent about it.

"If you say so." She leaned in and gently pressed her lips against my cheek. "Now, who wants breakfast? I made your favourite waffles," She spoke in a playful voice, immediately bathing me in a pool of happiness. Oh! I loved this girl.

"Gosh! You always take care of me. Thank you so much," I caressed her soft cheek with my fingers before pecking her plump pink lips.

"Come on. Let's go have breakfast now," I spoke as my lips curled into a soft smile.

"How's it going?" I watched as Sabrina raised her left hand, grabbing onto the doorframe while simultaneously using her right one to put on her black stiletto heals.

"I'm just... trying my best here," I sighed, tossing the paintbrush in the paint palette, staring at the blank canvas with an empty mind.

As she finished putting on her shoes, she began making her way towards me. Stopping adjacent to me, she stared at the canvas with a tinge of disappointment before turning towards me and planting a gentle kiss against the skin of my cheek.

"You'll figure something out. I believe in you," She spoke, resting her head against my shoulder while her palms soothingly rubbed my bicep.

"I hope I do," I smiled, positioning my palm upon her hand as I looked down and planted a soft kiss against her blonde head.

"I should get going now or I'll be late for work. See you tonight," She said, letting go of me.

"Ok... I'll wait for you then," I gently pinched her soft cheek between the index finger and the thumb of my left hand.

"Bye!" She greeted, turning around as she began making her way towards the door to leave.

"Wait."

"Yes?" She turned around upon hearing my call. I then ran towards her, palmed her face between my hands and kissed her lips.

Pulling away, I focused my gaze in hers, "I'll miss you and I love you."

"I love you too," She gave me the most beautiful smile as she stared me in the eyes.
