As I walked into the gym, the sound of many yelling out could be heard. I looked around before I saw my family waving to get my attention.

"You finally made it" Reyna muttered out as I hugged mom before sitting next to her, Anna May now trying to sit on my lap.

"I had an important meeting to attend before I could get here" I spoke out while helping Anna May up.

Serena then got up from her seat and sat on the other side of me, "I'm glad you could make it... Rome was looking for you earlier" She told me while watching the players on the court.

I tuned into the game, watching the players to see that they were about to start the second quarter. It wasn't too long before I spotted Rome on the court, him now looking in our direction.

I smiled and waved when we made eye contact, him doing the same before going to his position. I couldn't help but feel bad for not being here earlier. This still doesn't seem like him to want to play a sport, especially basketball.

The buzzer then went off and the game resumed, and I saw that he was pretty good at it. Their team was currently in the lead by eight points, "That's my boy!" My mom yelled out, standing up when the ball was passed to Rome.

He shocked both Serena and I when he scored a three-pointer, "W-what? Did Rome just score?!" She asked out loud.

I didn't miss the laugh that came from dad as he watched in amusement.

"Yayyy Roe!" Anna May exclaimed while jumping up in my lap, clapping her hands.

Many people were cheering in the crowd from his score, his teammates cheering him on. This was something new for me to see, I've never seen him be so comfortable around groups of people like this.

"He's finally starting to man up and put that art foolishness aside" My father spoke out as he watched.

"Foolishness? What's wrong with him enjoying art? He's good and it and you should be proud" I stated.

My mom was quick to change the subject as she knew we'd be arguing nonstop. I held onto Anna May to calm down as she played with my shirt. I couldn't stand when he does things like this. Why can't he just be proud of what we do?

He always finds something to complain about... there's times where I just want to punch him in the face. I know that I was young... but I still remember the days where mom was sad and would cry about him.

I love our father... but I can never fully forgive him for what he put mom through.

I felt a hand on my arm, looking to see that it was Reyna, "It's going to be alright Cole... let's just continue to cheer for Rome" She spoke out before turning her attention back to the game.

Even though Reyna was more accepting when he came back into our lives, I know she feels the same as well.

"I'm sleepy" Anna May muttered out before rested her head in the crook of my neck.

"Come on Anna, give Cole a break" Serena spoke out while trying to take her, Anna May now pushing her away.

"Don't touch me!" She stated angrily, grabbing onto my shirt tightly. I couldn't help but laugh at the two.

"You're such a spoiled brat!" Serena stated, Anna sticking her tongue out before laying her head back down.

The game went by pretty quickly. Rome was scoring a few more three-pointers whenever he'd get the ball. It wasn't too long before the fourth quarter ended, the score being 42-30. Anna and I were the first to make it to Rome.
