Smg4: 'What If?'- Lexie's Version

'What if...It's Mario's turn for Perfection?' (100% subject to a change)

This was an Idea made before 'The Game Cube' So any rekindling of Friendship between Mario and 4 has not happed yet

"Um...Sorry..." Melony smiles sheepishly, looking at Mario's Art compared to hers. Mario was at Melony's house, he loved how much work he put into Smg4's Best Friend Award...but it didn't put the 'Best' In Best Friend, so he went to Melony for help since she was probably one of the best Artists in the group "But that's not a Circle..."

"WHAT!? OF COURSE IT IS!?" Mario whines

"Mario, That's an Oval"

"Same Difference!" He pouts, crossing his arms

They've been at this since they got the furniture for the Showground, Mario was frustrated he just wasn't catching onto ANYTHING Melony was teaching him...and he felt bad for wasting her time with little to no progress at all

"If you're that upset" Melony smiles, Gesturing to herself "Maybe I can remake the Award for you!"

Mario shook his head "I appreciate it Melony... I really, really do..." He looked down and glances off to the side "But Mario has to be the one who makes it...It has to be Perfect for Glitchy, and Mario wants to be the one to do this...It won't be special anymore if he's not the one making it..."

Melony nods "I understand, Then we'll just keep working hard!" He smile fades when she hears snoring and she looks over to see Mario sleeping. She then smiles again "After a quick nap!" She then falls asleep as well

The day went by rather quickly for them, Mario shot awake quickly, looking outside to see the Sun setting

"Aw man! There's no way for Mario can make it perfect for Glitchy!" Mario groans "He's been at this forever!"

Melony woke up too and hummed "Hey, Luigi is good at Art too, right? Maybe you can ask him for help while we're at the showgrounds tomorrow?"

Mario sighs "At this point...I'm going to take anything I can get..."

Mario waved goodbye to Melony as he left her house and made his way home. He sighed when he walked into his house, greeted by his little brother

"Hey Bro!" Luigi smiles, He was finishing making dinner "How'd it go with Melony?"

"Bad...I'm starting to think it was a bad Idea after all... I mean Glitchy has been ignoring me for the most part since that day unless we're around our friends..." Mario glanced off to the side

"No, That can't be it at all" Luigi tells him "He knows out of everyone, he's hurt you the most in recent events, So he's probably afraid to ruin anything more between you two, You're his Best Friend after all"

Mario let out a half chuckle 'Best Friend'

Mario walked passed Luigi and towards their room

"Mario?" Luigi smiled, holding up two plates of Spaghetti "I made your Favorite!" He lowered his arms and frowned watching Mario continue to walk 

"I'm tired...I think I'm just going to turn in for the night..." Mario then went fully into their room

The next day, Mario and Luigi made their way to the Showgrounds, Mario seeming to be a bit more chipper this morning.

Luigi chuckles "You seem happier today Mario"

"Guess Mario was just tired" Mario looked at Luigi and smiled "Hey, Weegee? I actually had something to ask you"

"Sure, What's up?"

"Melony suggested I ask you cause you're also good at Drawing and Art...So I wanted to know if you could help me make a New Best Friend Award...Mario is no good at 'Traditional Art' So, he needs a new approach..."

Luigi wasted no time nodding "Of course!" He hummed in thought "Maybe Digital Art is more your Speed? I'm sure if we ask Smg3 nicely, I'm sure he'll let us borrow his PC at the grounds!"

They soon made it to the showgrounds and Luigi went right to Smg3 who was talking to Smg4

"Hey 3, Can Mario and I speak with you?" Luigi looked behind him at 4 then back to 3 "Alone...?"

Smg3 looked at Smg4

Smg4 shrugs "Go ahead, Might be important" He smiles

"If you say so" 3 mutters quietly following Mario and Luigi away from 4 "What is it?" 3 crossed his arms

"Would it be possible for Mario and I to borrow your Computer?" Luigi asks him

"You pulled me away for this!? Why couldn't you ask me around 4!?"

"Because, Mario has something for him that he hasn't seen yet so Mario wants to keep it a surprise" Mario spoke quietly

3 raised an eyebrow "And what could that possibly be?" He thought for a moment before looking right at Mario "Wait...That Paper you were holding back on Mario Day? What was it?"

Mario went into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper, handing it to 3

3 took the paper and unfolded it, revealing the Best Friend Award, his expression softened looking at it "This is why you were so upset after he locked himself back up...It looks so..." He smiled sheepishly

"It's not Mario's best Artwork" Mario admits looking down 

"N-No, That's not what I meant!" 3 told him quickly "You can tell just how personalized it is and how much love time and effort was put in, I'm sure he'd love it"

"It Isn't enough!" Mario shouts "It has to be perfect for Glitchy!"

Smg3 groans "Never say the word 'Perfect' In my Presence again" He shakes his head "I have bad connections with the word now..."

"It just isn't good enough for him..." Mario crossed his arms, glancing off to the side

"You want to know if you can use the computer to make it Digital Art instead to see if that helps you work on it any better..." 3 put together

"I-If you'll let us..." Luigi adds

Smg3 looked at Mario before handing the Award back to him "If it fixes your relationship with 4, then fine, I'm getting tired of him being at your throat and you straight up not talking to him"

Mario smiles, going over to Smg3 into a hug causing his Guardian to flinch "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Smg3!"

Smg3 smiles a bit, hugging him back "Just make up with him again please? You guys are annoying..."

Mario chuckles, pulling away from him "That's the plan!"

"I'll keep him busy for you guys" 3 placed a hand on Mario's shoulder "And good luck Mario..." He then went off to go back to 4

"Alright! Are you ready Mario?" Luigi asks him

Mario smiles brightly "Let's-a make Glitchy so Happy!"
