"Another time." I say walking away with Armand

At least the man can dance. Armand is completely useless. He is a count with alot of money and that is probably it. No adventures, no danger, no talent, nothing.

"Say the word and I'll escort you to your home." Armand says

"And leave your guests?" I try to play innocently

"I care for you to much to subject you to an evening of forced smiles, Elena."

I was pulled away from Armand by Alejandro my brother. I gasp.

"You, you are the one not acting like yourself! Since when do politics bore you huh?" He asks

"Since when do you start caring what I think!" I shout slightly

I get pulled again by Armand.

"If you wish I'll have them escorted out." He says

"I can handle him!"

He doesn't listen and I watch as Alejandro gets escorted. I get pulled again but by James. Oh how I enjoyed when we danced together but now it seems different. He sounds tipsy and the furious flames in his eyes grow larger and larger.

"You must tell me how you met!" He says

"Years ago! In Spain, we were finishing school together!" I make up

"Oh how nice, you were reunited so he could finish." He says sarcastically

"Don't force me to embarrase you!" I say

"Sorry, too late!"

When James gets drunk and sarcastic it gets on my nerves sometimes. James doesn't even drink! He must have mixed up to water with tequila. I don't even know why they put the water and tequila in the same cup.

"So ummm, tell me, count, is your title higher than, say, a duke." James asks

"It's rather common actually, much like a don."

I try running away from this mess and go to Elizabeth to calm down since I just saw her carriage arrive with her exiting it. James catches my arm as tightly as he can.

"Oh, he is a delight. Rich, good-looking and royalty!"

I pull my arm free and continue to walk away as he follows.

"Is there anything I can say to make you leave!" I shout

"You can fall to your knees and beg me to take you back!"

"Oh, I wouldn't want to ruin my dress!" I say mocking his sarcasm

"It's just as good! I'm enjoying a single life!" He shouts now too

"Is that supposed to make me jealous!" I say stopping now loosing my nerves

"Does it!"

"Never!"

"Now tell me who has been looking after Diana while her mother spends her nights out!"

"I have not been spending my nights out, I have not even told Diana now I think you should go!"
I say as the anger boiling up inside me is telling me that the drinks he has been drinking has taken this too far and has to end

"Elena!" He says grasping his hand

"Let me go!" I say turning to him

"It was your choice to marry a man like me in the first place!"

"You're drunk!" I shout

"I stay home with Diana as you go get another husband, unbelievable!" He shouts louder than me now

"Keep your voice down!" I shout as loud as him

"Well congratulations, your highness!" He shouts

Without wasting a second I shout and slap him across the face as everyone looks around to us and the music stops. Elizabeth approaches me putting a hand on my shoulder. That was the moment I realised what I had done. Everything then came back to me.

Why did this happen to me! I couldn't just stand in one place acting like I didn't do it everyone saw!
