Luffy was looked after by Dragon until he was 5, then Dragon had to give him to the Foosha Village people on Dawn Island.
Luffy was captured by the Celestial Dragons 2 weeks after Sabo's "death".
Luffy has ...problems. The rest of his backstory will be revealed in the book.
Dragon is actually a middle-aged,stressed father who's husband is wanted for a billion and who already has a bounty of 5b or 7b (I forgot, please tell me, Google says 5b but people say 7b) while juggling the WG's number 1 threat and possible number 1 threat (Revolutionary army and Luffy)
Also there is rarely any sexual stuff between the straw hats and their partners.
Lots of gay shit too if you didn't read the warnings.
The Monkey D.s are the absolute peak of dry humour.
Dragon absolutely despises Garp but is glad he's is trying to change and can handle a two minute conversation without trying to kill him. But, he definitely can't stay in a room for 5 hours with Garp without going crazy.
Garp was a bad Dad, and a bad Grandpa, but he has to deal with his shit, he may be a good marine, with good opinions, but he was no better than an absent dad.
