I yawned as I read the date, June 12, 2023. Today was my first day at college. I was excited, but hella nervous. This was high school, a new and different environment.

I jumped out of bed, quickly took a shower, and got ready for the day. I then had my breakfast, and my dad reached me at the college gate. He wished me good luck and reminded me to stay focused on my goals.

As I walked towards the building, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the size of the campus and the number of students around me. It wasn't as big compared to the college my friends were going to. But it was still bigger than my school. I felt like a small fish in a big pond. However, I reminded myself that with time, I would become more familiar with the campus and find my place among the students.

My eyes scanned the place to find any familiar faces. I spotted Joanna along with her friends standing in front of the school and walked towards them.

"Hey" I said looking at everyone.

"Hi Katherine! I'm so excited, we're gonna be in the same class!"

"Yes, it will be fun"

The gates opened and we entered the school. A few school leaders sent us to the first floor and told us to assemble down at 8 o'clock.

After we arrived at the first floor, we sat down in silence. A few students started getting to know each other. I felt so nervous. I didn't know anyone except Joanna.

Soon the bell for the assembly rang. We walked towards the place of assembly. The teachers conducted a prayer service. The principal introduced us to the faculty and we took an introductory session on the basic rules of the school. By 9 am, the assembly was over and we were free to get out of the assembly hall.

The time between the assembly and the end of the school day seemed to go by in a flash. Before I knew it, I was on my way back home.

After a long day of school, I felt exhausted and simply wanted to relax and unwind. Picking up my phone I hoped on my bed and opened Instagram to check my DMs.

After that incident,  I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable around Sean. I had ignored him for months, and I knew he was upset because of that. So, I decided to message him to clear the air.

"Hey, how was your day?"

Suddenly, my phone pinged.

"You ignore people like us nah"

"Ay shut up I said hi"

"When? You didn't man"

"Bruh"

"What bruh. It's fine. You can ignore us"

"I did say hi. It's not my fault you didn't hear."

"whatever bruh"

"If u say so 🙄"
