-*...I got some fukin news*
-oh shit you ok?
-*...yes?*
-that's not very confident.
-*Well I don't know, that's the thing.*
-what happened?

A sigh emanates from the speakers, it's low and y/n can see how corruption sits in his chair, chin in hand and staring down the screen, reminiscing whatever had happened.

-*basically the crime.net's creator hacked me and-*
-WAIT WHAT?!
-*let me speak!*

there is strength in his voice. an iron grip that even made y/n shiver. it wasn't like he often spoke with purpose, but when he did, you had to listen

-*I didn't tell you this, but basically the heist's original briefing was in binary. It jumped out at me and so I translated it. turns out, it had hints to the code of dc's version of crime.net...this crime.net we are using is the external, but the ones being used by the people in dc are using essentially a different application.*
- how do heists cross?
-*that's what I don't know. but in any case, I logged in as my admin status on their page. I was immediately targeted but I got to a safer version. In the end, the owner of the application texted me. we chatted something up and I figured out that he thought you and I were one person*

this had caught y/n off guard, she bends forward slightly in her chair, paying a bit closer of attention. A small smile appears once she properly takes in the news

-ha, really?
-*yea, he texted me, and I quote "you definitely seem to know how to protect against me woman"*

at this y/n had burst out laughing. that text seemingly from the one who created the entire sight, just seemed kinda ridiculous

-so what did you do?
-*cleared some things up. now he knows there are 2 people, corruption, the tech dude, and y/n the...I don't know what he knows you as...the sneaky bastard.*
-fair

there is silence as I look back to my screen, carrying on with whatever I had been pulled away from.

<bains pov>

-so what, we are gonna bring them in?
-*They have their strengths, they know what they are doing and they have been invited by whoever.*
-we can't just bring them in because you think they're good.
-*you each literally had a moment with her, what did you think?*

a silent blanket covers everyone and both Dallas and Chains think back. bains words rattle their minds as they try remembering all moments with her

In every situation they had met her, on the street or with her outright inviting them, they didn't really see a reason to hate her...

-I mean we did talk when I stormed out, got to go over to her house. get a good look with her even explaining it.
-You went to her house?
-...did I forget to mention?
-Oh yea, you mumbled something of the sort when you got back the next day. went over to hers and she comforted you
-yea, she is a nice person.
-she is, I wanted to buy the tea but she ended up putting her card first.

chains and Dallas get slightly red faces, they thought similarly, both kinda shocked at her kindness. but they still didn't feel it was right to let her in, who knows what they could be plotting

-you don't know, maybe she is nice at the start.
-*ok, how about I text corruption*
-who?
-I found out y/n has a helper, a "partner in crime" so to say. We talked a bit yesterday, bit of an awkward meeting if I have anything to say about it.

literally everyone In the room cringes. they have heard that before...and even if the night was filled with alcohol to the brim where even Hoxton couldn't drive back, they still knew from who and to who it was aimed at

~flashback~

The couch is soft, a deep red that is dulled by the darkness of the room. Both James and y/n sit side by side. Postures are relaxed and smiles on both.
