Autumn leaves

The rain was pouring outside while I was reading. Autumn's arriving  I thought to myself with a sigh. The wettest season of the year is now here. Everything has been very boring in the family right now. Ame is almost never home, always going out with Rus, Aussie and Kiwi (New Zealand) are mostly outside doing stuff and father and mother are always busy with something. So I'm normally all alone in the house, but on the bright side, I get to have the whole house to myself. I flipped through the pages of my book, getting more and more engrossed into it until I've totally lost track of time. When I checked my phone again, it was already 5:00pm. I jumped off the coach and raced to the kitchen. Goddamn, I was supposed to prepare dinner. I thought angrily to myself. I fumbled around in the pantry and fridge, seeing if there's anything that I can make.

"Nada! I'm back!" Ame called from the hallway, startling me, causing me to drop the knife that I was holding. The knife crashed down onto my fingers, I didn't have enough time to react or anything before the damage was already done. I didn't scream or anything, I just stood there as I watched the blood spill from my fingers and onto the chopping board. I carefully lifted the knife off my left hand and placed it down somewhere else. I rinsed my fingers underneath water and winced a bit as the cold liquid washed away the blood. As Ame walked into the kitchen, he took a step back and shifted a gasp as he saw what lay in front of him. "Canada! Brother! Are you alright?!" Ame rushed towards the cupboard and grabbed a first-aid kit to tend to my hand. "I'm fine, it's just a little cut." I winced a bit as Ame wrapped my hand in bandages. "Just a little cut?! You call this a little?! Oh my GOD, dad's gonna freak out when he sees what happened to your hand." I sighed, knowing that he was right.
