Freedom and Wind

Rose POV

I'm grateful for the Snow White's for taking me in.

Thankfully we're going to see the horses cause as the "ogre" said: " ponies are for babies, I'm a big boy,"

I don't see much.

He's a scrawny, smelly, stick.

That's what he is.

He's walking in front of me besides his mother leading the way.

Both of his parents are pretty, he must be adopted.

How could someone be so ugly?

Mother Earth must of slapped him in the face a few dozen times.

He scratched his head. Like the ape he is.

Boys are weird.

"Mommy? If Rose will ride Misty, who will I ride?"

She smiled and squeezed his sweaty-wart infested hand.

"We'll see when we get there,"

My nose knew we were at the stables before I did.

The smell of the horses and the hay slapped my nose.

Not that I mind.

I enjoyed the stables, in fact I used to hide in the stables when playing Hide-and-Seek.

My sister would never go there. She was too dainty, and my brother would always get distracted in the woods and stop playing.

I grinned at the tall horses. Each swaying their tails like an ocean breeze.

When in the ring, by the field I saw him.

A beautiful black horse, whipping his head. Galloping around- no racing.

He was fast, like a blur.

I found myself gasping at his splendor.

"He's beautiful..."

"That's whiplash... fast horse, a beauty and a pain," one of the hands said wiping sweat off his brow.

"Was wild, when his highness Nicholas caught him.

And off they rode. Together fighting enemies!"

He slapped his knee, "A horse and a man-who just met- slain a mountain of villains. A sight to see indeed,"

"Can I ride him?" I wanted to touch him. I wanted what he wanted: freedom.

"No can do miss; that wild fellow only lets his highness Nicholas touch him. Even as a hand he'll give me hell."

I nodded. This would be my goal: one day- just one time- I would ride Whiplash.

And I would give him what he craves: freedom.
