"Hey, Adelaide. Quick question?"
She glances back at him, her green eyes narrowed into an odd questioning look.
"Yes?"
"I didn't even know we were hiring, when did you bring your resume in?" he asks in confusion "I'm usually the one who gathers all those up for the manager you know"
Adelaide stares at him quietly for a moment.
"It's nothing to worry about Ross, really. Don't even think about it"
Ross raises an eyebrow, looking confused.
"Uh, I guess if you don't wanna talk about it, fine?" he replies "But uh, I just thought it was weird"
Adelaide looked confused herself, but regardless did as she was asked and walked over to the table Richie was sitting at.
"Hello..."
He looks up.
"Oh, hola~! You're new here" he states before noticing the drink "Ahah, Ross made it didn't he?"
"Yes" She hands it to him "He stated you were a friend?"
"Yep, yep, yep! Richard Alexander Davies" he says, offering a charming smile "At your service~! Just call me Richie though, where is Princey by the way?"
"Princey...?"
"Ross, I call him variations of Princey or Mi príncipe."
"Oh I see, well he's clocking out"
"Ah, awesome. And what's your name miss?"
"Call me Adelaide"
"Adelaide, a pleasure to meet you." he chuckles, before seeing Ross "Ah! Mi príncipe!"
"Ibwayo! Gisa!" Ross runs over, a small bag slung over his back "I see you've met Adelaide. She's working here now, she'll be around a lot"
"Well, then I look forward to seeing you a lot"
Adelaide looks between the two.
"...Are you both speaking...Korean?"
"Oh no" Richie chuckles, "I speak Spanish as my second language and like...basic conversational level Japanese. Neither of us actually fluently speak the other's second language, we just know each other well enough to throw it at each other as if it were english"
She looks confused before turning around and returning to work. Richie smiles.
"An introvert I think"
Ross stares at her as she leaves, before turning and nodding.
"Probably yeah"
Why does something...feel....wrong...
"So Princey" Richie says, cutting through Ross' thoughts "I...wanted to talk to you"
"No Richie, I'm doing it" he replies "come on"
The two leave the surf spot in silence for a few minutes before Richie cuts back in.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm not cut out for it"
"Because Adam is scared for your safety you mean"
"Abeoji is right, I'll just get hurt or make things worse Richie"
"I don't believe that and...I feel like you don't either!"
"Being..." Ross looks around and lowers his voice "Being a power ranger isn't easy. I've...heard of the ways it can affect you. My father is right"
