Her legs shook as her nails dug further and further into the palm of her hand, hospital waiting rooms weren't exactly a place of comfort for the teenager in-fact they were the exact opposite. To put it simply she would rather be anywhere else!
Maya placed her hand on the girls knee stopping the shaking, picking up the teens hand placing it in her own lap smoothing her thumb over the girls fingers to get her to relax. No words were exchanged and Evelyn was glad of that, afraid she'd be a stuttering mess and her foster mother would laugh at her — she's fifteen for godsake and scared of doctors, what a joke
"Evelyn Harris" Maya stood up after Carina not once letting go of her foster daughters hand, Evelyn wouldn't admit it but she was relived for the comfort and Maya was over the moon as the teen had yet to flinch from her touch
They made their way over to who Evelyn assumed to be a nurse whose red hair was tied into a low pony tail and was dressed in white scrubs with purple detailing a smile decorating her face as the small family got closer. She seemed kind
"Ciao Emma" Carina greeted as they stood in for by of the nurse. She'd known the woman since she joined Grey— Sloan a few years back and also had the pleasure of working alongside one another as the redhead was a paediatric nurse and Carina an Obgyn. The Italian also happened to have delivered the nurses first child late last year
