Scoping Out(Kinro and Hina) - Chapter 3: Take your time

I facepalmed when she called me. "Kin-Chan? Come on Senna, not on agent duty." I replied. "Not much is going on. I just woke up early that's all."

Senna stood next to me when she reached the base platform and bumped my shoulder with a smile. I bumped her back with a smile in return. "So what do we have planned for our agents today, more recon and exploration missions?" Senna asked me. "If I had to say, that wouldn't be too bad. The only thing is that we've been sending them on a lot of recon missions." I replied back to her. "I'm thinking something else this time around." I paced around thinking of what we could do for today's agent work.

That was when Senna tapped me with a grin on her face. "What if, we do one-on-one combat training today? You know, a good breather from recon and, it's a good way to gauge everyone's combat abilities." I looked at her and then smiled with a nod. "That actually sounds like a great idea. Gauging everyone's combat skill in one-on-ones can be helpful practice for the real deal and especially in turf and anarchy." I said agreeing with her. "Great! Let's start getting set up then."

The two of us would start setting up the camp for combat training as we discussed more hero missions we could plan in the future. During set up, Callie and Marie joined up and started helping out too. Overall, we finished at around 7am and in time too. The next ones to join up were Hina, Ken and Megumi. We all exchanged good mornings, hellos and those who weren't in uniform went off to get changed. The only one that was late was Kyoko who arrived at 7:05am, quickly greeting and getting changed. After everyone was ready, they stood in a line facing towards us. Sean cleared her throat and waved to everyone.

"Good morning everyone, good to see you all here and ready. Today we're not doing any recon missions. Instead, we're set up for...some one-on-one combat training instead!" She said with a bit of excitement. "This is mainly to gauge everyone's combat skills and take a breather from recons." I added in. "So we'll set you against each other, you'll battle and so forth."

Everyone seemed interested and excited about doing something different for a change. After that announcement, we all stood to the side and drew tickets that Callie and Marie had made. One by one we all drew, and it was set.

I'm fighting against Hina? What a coincidence considering how we were fighting together yesterday. At least we're not going first.

With everyone having drawn their tickets, we spent 5-10 minutes doing warmups before starting for real. The first ones called to fight was Kyoko and Shiyon. Shiyon is skilled with dualies, being her main weapon class. Kyoko is also skilled with a lot of weapons, but her best class is rollers. Kyoko uses Flingza and Shiyon uses Dualie Squelchers, so the two will have to play around their ranges.

The two stepped forwards while the others stood and watched from a distance. They gave each other a fist bump before pacing away and assuming a ready stance.

"Agent Kyoko against Agent Shiyon, are you ready?" I said while raising my hand into the air. "Get set, engage!"

I swung my hand downwards and the two immediately started to fire at each other. Shiyon  was fast on her feet and Kyoko was playing more defensive. The two kept fighting, landing close shots and blows to each other, occasionally getting hits in. Eventually, with a quick dodge roll from Shiyon she slipped up and was smacked dead on by Kyoko. She was sent across the snow and knocked out.

"Match one over! Winner is, Agent Kyoko!" Shouted Senna with her hand raised up. "Congratulations to the both of you. You fought well. Stand and we'll let the next match take place."

Senna walked over to the both of them and took them back with the others. Kyoko and Shiyon laughed off their fight and were good sports overall. The next two to be called up for combat was announced to be me and Hina, by some weird twist of fate. Both of us got up on the stage and readied our weapons after giving each other a nod.

"No hard feelings right Capt. Kinro? I'm gonna beat you into calamari!" Said Hina as she stuck her tongue and pulled her eyelid down.

I shook my head and followed up with "Just don't lose after saying that." And readied my gun up.

It was me, a regular splattershot against Hina's roller. The odds were pretty even, but I had the higher skill ceiling compared to her in a fight. Senna raised her hand up and we both back up a fair distance the at ready. Then with a call off, she swiped her hand down and we both rushed at each other.

I'm so sorry that I placed this on a indefinite hiatus and also apologies if it starts to drop or feel weird in some places, cause this was written on and off at times.
