Summer break.

Finding a place that is both affordable and big enough for eight people maybe more was a challenge.

They found did end up finding a place it's just this place was a old frat house that was away from any colleges- the old owners built it far away from their school so they could have loud parties, but it was in a residential area- four wild parties in and the old owners got so many complains that not only was they forced to move but the house was cleaned out of anything bad- just a lot of weed and beer nothing illegal.

It needed work done too, it had been cleaned out so no stds or gross stuff like that was in.

The house was so cheap because no one wanted it.

It needed to be painted.

"Does anyone know how to use tools. "Said Kian,.

"I spend a great deal of my childhood making fantasy sets for projects at school and use to help backstage at school in some of the plays I keep a tool kit in my car. "Said Daxton.

"My dad tried to make me straight ,so I know how to use tools and woodwork my family was kind of upper middle class but my dad wanted all of his sons to be straight 'real' men now I'm a gay who can built a well crafted dresser from scratch . "Said Vance.

"My dads both taught me how to use tools because they knew stereotypes about not straight men. "Said Tris.

"Same with my parents, we use to do repairs at my mom restaurant  to save money. "Said Kora.

"I once helped my mom put up a shed once. "Said Julie.

"I know how to use tools, I used some for a theater thing as a kid." Jess signed.

"Okay I know how to paint stuff stuff ."Said Kian.

"I know how to built stuff, I helped my parents put together a basketball in my front yard. "Said Deshawn.

"I once helped my mom fix the roof of our house back in Hawaii. "Said Eden.

"I don't know how to use tools but I know how to paint stuff. "Said Braiden.

They went to a hardware store.

At first someone thought they were planning on stealing.

"No we're looking for stuff to work on our house." Said Tris.

They got paint, some screws and anything they could afford that they could use in the house.

They got to work.

It was summer break now they had time to fix it.

They worked as a team.

Vance's has a truck-he was able to keep his truck- so he was able to haul stuff to the house.

They worked hard on this.

Victoria let them stay at her house for the week while they were fixing up the other house.

"Thanks for letting us stay here . "Said Kian.

"You guys treated my brother like family and stood by him when he needed you, you guys are okay in my book. "Said Victoria.

Tw- some racism but no slurs or super graphic stuff just stuff that happens- like someone assuming you're in the wrong neighbor or someone assuming you don't know English.

I wanted to add a bit of realness to this.

When the neighbors next door to the old frat house saw the eight guys they assumed the worst.

"We're just fixing up the house before we move in. "Said Vance.

Well one of the neighbors wanted to call the polices because of Deshawn, Braiden and Jess being there, they also assumed the rest of the guys but Vance didn't speak English.

They heard Vance speaking Spanish they thought he wasn't from here.

"The chutzpah of these people to threat us I bet they're going to have a real kanipshin when they finds out we can speak English and none of us are straight. "Said Julie.

Sometimes when Julie is mad he starts adding Yiddish in his talking-not always when he's mad but still same with tagalong.

One neighbor tried to start something with Julie talking crap about his appearance and well he said something that translates to in tagalong as a curse word.

"I don't speak Chinese . "Said the neighbor.

"Neither do I, it was tagalong you racist wrinkly old bastard . "Said Julie in a charming sounding voice.

These neighbors messed with the wrong people.

Julie doesn't bit his tongue, Vance stop giving a crap, Tris learned to be braver and the other guys just stop giving crap because they have dealt with so much hate in their lives that they are tired of it.

That neighbor who made the threat ended up not calling the polices.

People did start to complain when Julie was in a dress and one guy was wearing a shirt with a tiny pride flag on it.
