"I'm sorry Max, I had to." I lowly said, looking at the hurt and disappointment in his face. I feel like a horrible sister, a horrible human being.
"I just- I need some time to process everything.." He trailed, not even looking at me.
He looks so disappointed and betrayed... He's making things harder than they already are. I understand though, If Max kept such a huge thing from me, I too would be hurt. I just dropped a bombshell on him, he needs time to process everything and I'll give him that. If it was anyone else, I would've said it's my life and I don't owe anyone an explanation. But this is my Max, the closest thing I have to a sibling. Max and I tell each other everything, we confide in each other and keep each other's secrets. He's like my human diary and I'm his, so I do feel like I owe him an explanation. But right now he doesn't even wanna hear anything from me, so I'll respect that.
"Okay." I stood up. "I understand." I said lowly as I got out of his room with Kiara and Kai on my side.
"That was hetic." Kai muttered as we went down the stairs.
I chuckled. "Hectic."

"Your daughter got surgery, you got shot, you and Kenny got back together, you find out Moscow's trying to kill you, you find out your dad knows about your kids, you finally told Max the truth... Am I leaving something behind ?"Maddie raised her eyebrows and I shaked my head. "All of this in just three weeks ?"
"Yep." I nodded.
"Wow." She exhaled. "Your life is a movie."
"I figured." I muttered under my breath.
Now that Maddie said everything out loud, it makes me realise how this past month has been, like Kai would say... Hectic. A lot of good things transpired of course, Kiara's vision is now clear, I finally got rid of the burden of keeping secrets from my family and Kenny and I fixed things. The only things worth worrying is Max coming around, this bullet wound on my stomach healing and dealing with Moscow once and for all.
"But don't worry, he'll come around." Maddie ate the Oreos in her Mcflurry. "Max can't get angry at you for too long. He's just shocked and a little hurt right now. Just give him more time."
"It's been two days and I haven't even heard from him." I looked outside the window. We were at our usual spot, McDonald's. We had just finished our lunch and were now munching down ice creams. Kiara would be angry if she knew I had ice cream without her. "Maddie you also didn't know about the twins."
"What do mean ? I knew-"
"No Maddie if Max finds out you knew all along while he didn't, it will only make things worse." I explained to her. "It's better if he thinks the both of you knew nothing."
"Lu, adding more lies will make things worse. We just need to tell Max the whole truth, not half of it. I know for a fact that if I wasn't at the hospital with you five years ago, you would've kept this from me too. So we'll tell Max exactly that."
I hate it when she's right, because most of the time she is.
"Okay. No more lies." I nodded.
"Good, now that- not again." She mumbled the last words before standing up and running to the direction of the bathroom.
I stood up confused as hell, and followed her. I opened the bathroom door and immidietly checked the stalls when I heard gagging sounds. I found Maddie crouching down and throwing up inside the toilet on the third stall. I got inside and held her hair up while she continued vomiting and spilling all the contents of the lunch she had.
