Seeing my dad and Max getting along just filled me so much ecstasy, serenity and peace. It just made me happy how their relationship improved over the years and how my dad learnt to accept Max's sexuality. Even though they're problems go wayy beyond and before that, it's just nice seeing them this way.
"Let me go and get to that before mom eats my head off." Max chuckled, standing up.
I got inside and he smiled when he saw me.
"It's nice to see you still remember you have a family." He folded his arms.
"Get out." I said and we both chuckled. He heard his mom calling him and mumbled something along the lines "I'm dead."
Me too Max, me too.
"Come to my room before you leave. I gotta go before Tina Cooper kills me." He rushed out of the room.
"Hey dad." I sat on the couch opposite to him.
"Blue." He looked at me, his expression changing to a concerned one in an instant. "What's wrong ? You okay ?"
"Yeah I'm.. I'm fine." I reassured with a smile.
"I tried calling these past two days getting no response from you, I was even starting to get worried."
"Sorry, I was in a flight." I replied, my heart beating rapidly in my chest.
"Good thing you're here." He said sitting up straight. The fact that he wasn't wearing a suit should've made him less intimidating, it should've made things easier. But even in casual wear, my dad still possessed the most intimidating attitude you could ever find in a man.
"The Met Karlos is next month, it will also be the night I announce you taking over." He explained and I looked at him wide eyed.
"Dad I- isn't it too soon for me to be taking your place ? I mean-"
"Blue if you expected that you'll take over after I die then you were wrong." His deep voice resonated. "It's time. You've earned your place Blue, and I know you'll make me proud by leading the gang."
"You could've gave me a notice." I mumbled, running my hands through my hair. "Dad before we talk about me being gang leader... I need to tell you something-"
"Mom!"
Shit. I mumbled as I heard footsteps. They had one job!
I looked at my dad as Kiara and Kai walked inside the room, waiting for a change in his expression or a reaction.
"This house is huge we've been looking for everywhere." Kai said as they ran to me.
I felt like air was being chocked out of my breath, my heart started racing as I looked at my dad.
Kai and Kiara directed their gaze to where I was looking and immidietly their faces lit up.
"Grandpa EL!!" The both excitedly screamed as they went to my dad and jumped on top of him, hugging him. My dad chuckled as he put them on both sides of his lap, they both kissed his cheek and he reciprocated.
My mouth hung open as I looked the sight infront of me. What, the, hell, was going on ?"
"You ready for the tournament ?"
Kai nodded smiling. "Like you said, show no mercy, grant them pain."
That's a really stupid quote- and again, WHAT IS GOING ON ?!
The both did a fist shake before he looked at Kiara. "I see you got rid of the little glasses ?"
"Yes I had surgery." She smiled. "Mom this is grandpa EL." Kiara said and I looked at my dad in confusion. He wasn't even suprised, not a little sign of astonishment or shock. How- what the hell is going on here ?
