"We'll take our chances!" His voice, his words.
Confidence Adam had never possessed overtook him in that moment all those years ago, chained in that cave alongside his two closest friends, facing down the hulking monster that was Goldar...he couldn't even fully understand why he had said that when he did. Perhaps...even back then...it was a sign of the strength that being a Ranger would eventually bring out in him...
But to hear his son echo those same words...
"Abeoji! Back up! I'll handle these guys!"
"...Ne, be careful Ross" he steps back, holding his chest as the slight pain still pulsates. For now, he couldn't do much, in this situation at least...
Still, I'm going to have some words with that boy when this is all over.
Ross took a deep breath before looking around. There were an ever increasing number of drainer droids surrounding him and that alien general in front of him. What was he going to do-
"Mars Ranger, can you hear me?"
Ross blinks behind his helmet.
"...AI thing?"
"Correct, I am the Mars AI, it appears morphed communication is functional. Wonderful. Allow me to assist you in this fight." The female voice echoed.
Ross glanced down at his morpher, wondering if it was speaking through that or if it were speaking through his helmet.
"Okay, how can you help?"
"I did a brief scan of the field of conflict, I detected four small mechanical energy signatures tied to the increasing number of Drainer Droids, a brief scan of the droids has brought me to the conclusion that they are being summoned and powered by these energy signatures" it explained "North, north-east, south-west and south. That is the general location of each of these, I believe destroying them will make handling the droids much easier"
"Okay...how do I do that though?"
"The droids will likely not allow you to get too close, I would recommend long distance attacks with your Codex Blaster or Mars Fire Bow. To summon any of your weapons simply say 'summon' alongside the weapon name into the morpher. To dispel them simply say 'dispel' alongside the weapon name"
Ross nods.
"Okay" he raises the morpher to his mouth "Summon Codex Blaster!"
Instantly a red flash comes from the jewel on his blaster and a red flash summons a small blaster, he grabs it and blasts a couple droids.
"Okay AI, which device is closest?"
"Scanning - one moment Mars Ranger....The one south-westward is the closest, there is also a much larger number of Drainer Droids surrounding that one however, may I recommend a course of action?"
"Go for it"
"Target the one northward from you, draw the Drainer Droids away from the one that they are protecting."
"Will that work?"
"The Drainer Droids do function on a sort of artificial intelligence, though not quite to the level of my own. They are smart enough to protect the source of their existence, if they see you are going after it, they will act to stop you"
"Alright, got it." He aims the blaster north towards some more droids.
He races forward shooting at the robot footsoldiers as he heads towards where the AI had pointed out. His focus was sharp, completely undeterred by anything that would have at some point been concerning him.
