Carson

"I placed a pericardio-amniotic shunt last week. So as long as the tumor doesn't grow too fast, we can push surgery until the baby is bigger."

"Until after she is born?"

Carson, in character as Doctor Wren Collins, shakes her head and clicks her tongue, "She won't make it to term. I think we can push it to the twenty three week mark, but anything after that puts the mother at too much risk."

"Twenty three weeks? Is that even possible?" Camilla looks over to Carson, the cameras moving around them while Caterina awaits her mark as they walk into the observation room filled with screens of scans and x-rays on the wall.

There are scans of the fetus' sacrococcygeal teratoma, then of the mother's brain tumor where Caterina is standing in front of.

"With us? It's possible. You got the best neurosurgeon and fetal surgeon in the country, not to mention both chiefs of neuro and pediatric slash fetal surgery. Have some faith, Wilson." Caterina smirks at Carson who flashes the same look back while Camila's eyes bug out at the scans.

"Wow."

"And cut! Great work, everyone. Let's move onto Ellen and Kate for the next scene! Thanks for the hard work, you guys. You're wrapped for today." Debbie Allen smiles at the three actresses and Carson slightly bows gratefully.

"Thank you, Debbie. You as well. Thank you all for today, everyone." She waves at the crew and heads off the set to undress in her own trailer.

Her feet carry her across the lot, eyes catching Kim and Kevin recording a video for the Instagram account, along with Kelly grabbing Caterina for a video and dragging Chris into it. Carson feels her heart swell for her co-stars, loving every moment of working on this show.

She can still feel a tug in her heart knowing that the first half of the season is wrapping and she will be moving on for the next few months to film for the movie while Grey's is on break and airing the beginning episodes of the season.

Once inside her trailer, she can see her phone screen lighting up on the table. Groaning, she grabs it while taking off the lab coat and tugging the scrub top over her head. She sees a message from Jaime reminding her of the meeting with Clea, Emily, and Elizabeth.

They're auditioning for the other roles of the film today. Carson was lucky she wrapped early just before 3, all she had to miss was the casting for Amaya, Dusty, and Shepherd. She wanted to be sure she'd be there for the more focused characters she'd share the screen with like Libby, Nora's mom, Sally Goode (Charlie's Mom), and Clint (Charlie's Dad).

Carson shoots Jaime a response, assuring her she is about to be on her way, then dialing Clea's number.

"Carson, glad to hear from you. Can you still make it?"

"Yes, ma'am. I am about to be on my way. Who's up next?"

"Next is Libby, Nora's sister. We have a ton on the list, you may miss the first few. How long until you can get here?"

Carson puts her phone on speaker as she pulls her casual clothes back on and looks up at the clock on the wall,

"Thirty minutes?"

"Alright, we'll be here. Thank you for working with us on this, I know you're very busy shooting Grey's Anatomy lately."

"No worries at all. Happy to do it, can't wait to get started. See you soon."
