A/N: For the sake of the story Book Lovers by Emily Henry is the film/script Carson has received though I made it queer and obviously it was released way after this story takes place so...a fanfiction inside of a fanfiction if you will :)

Carson

She's had her head buried in the script she received a few days ago all day long, and the entire week for that matter. So much so that in between takes she sits in her chair and grabs it, diving right back in.

Carson can't get enough. It's titled Book Lovers and apparently it's a book adaptation. Carson knows she has heard of it before, definitely seen it in a bookshop, but she never got to read it. But by the looks of this script, she definitely needs to pick up a copy immediately to do more research on the character she got scouted for:

Charlie Lastra. A big-shot book editor based out of New York City. And Charlie is definitely a badass. She identifies with her well and is excited to be able to play her. She just has to mask her accent if this character is from the States, of course. But she's not a stranger to that with film and television roles. She finds it fun, actually.

She can still remember when she got her first role playing an American. It was when she was offered the part in Chicago PD, she had to learn how to sound like she was from Chicago and she had a blast doing it.

Of course back at uni she had taken some lessons on it, she even had to do a few scenes with Elizabeth Olsen as an American. It was bloody difficult to act alongside that woman and put her talents to use for the sake of the scene and for the sake of seeming like she doesn't hate the woman's guts, but she performed well in a double manner.

Carson calls it her "double homicide" moment.

"Any good?"

The actor, still reading after her day has ended, picks her head up and looks over at her best friend, a smile feigning on her face while blood rushes to her cheeks.

Sophia breathes out a light laugh and hands Carson a beer before taking her spot beside her on her couch. She glances at the screenplay and hums in thought,

"New role?"

Carson nods and clicks her tongue, "Sort of. They want me to play Charlie, I haven't been able to put it down all week. It's a great read, great characters, storyline, narrative, dialogue. It's a bang-up job. Think I should take it?"

This isn't anything new. Sophia and Carson love bouncing ideas off one another. Whenever they've had offers or auditions, they go to one another for advice, trying to get an outsider's perspective and opinion on whether or not the role seems worthy.

And tonight is one of those nights. Sophia had invited Carson over to catch up on the past few weeks since they hadn't seen each other in quite some time, both busy with work and travel. But they always find ways to make time for each other, no matter what.

When Carson came over for dinner, as soon as they were done and Sophia had scolded Carson for trying to help with the clean up, she spotted her nose deep in the script.

Sophia smiles at her beloved friend, seeing that same sparkle in her eyes that she did when she got offered the role on Game of Thrones. She knows that look; Carson is passionate about this character.

"Absolutely. Haven't seen you this excited about something since Thrones."

There was a warm air forming around the two, one that brought comfort to Carson knowing that someone knew her this well. A comfort that she would normally shut down but when it came to Sophia she knew that was off the table.
