Javis car rumbled, he drove far down dark And dangerous roads to get where he was going. He soon pulled into a long dirty drive way, which twisted and turned up hillsides. Soon his car came to a stop, he was greeted by two men with large guns standing in front of a gate. Their stone faces suggested Javier get out of the car, he opened his door and unbuckled his seat belt, he placed his hands above his head. One of the men walked towards and swung his gun to his back and bent down to feel up Javier's ankles and pants, checking his chest as well. They let him go and opened the large gate, he stepped in the Petal of his car and moved Forward slowly, exhaling and picking up the pace. Lights in the distance illuminated a large house with acres of land. Down the dirt road, many men's were stationed with weapons. He soon pulled into a brick driveway and took a deep breath getting out of his car. More men with weapons stared harshly into his soul to intimidate him. "What did you want to discuss agent Peña." A women's voice chimed in, she was short but her high heals have her the illusion she was much taller, her auburn long hair draped down her shoulders, red lips and bright eyes. Judy Moncada, she was one the former leader of the Medllín cartel. When her husband was brutally murdered than no other than Escobar him self she went into hiding. To avenge her husband, she ended up leading a concurring cartel to end Escobars reign. Also working with a familiar face, don Berna who has been providing her security and a place to live since the death of her husband. Berna was husky man,
Humble and well respected. Javier and Berna would meet at local cafes to exchange information, never the same place twice. It had Become much more common since Escobar went into hiding. Judy invited Javier inside, walking though large hallways
Into a massive living room with large windows and
Luxurious marble statues of naked Roman women. Berna stood with his hands behind his back and started out of the large window. "Have you finally decided to give us actual useful information about Escobar, Peña?" He sighed and crosses his arms. "According to my sources, Escobar is shipping out one of the largest exports to the states sometime this month. On the coast.", "and you know this how?" He sighed, "new tech we've been developing." Berna turned from the widow and looked at Javier. "What do you think Judy?" Javier looked over his shoulder at the petite woman with her arms crossed across her chest. "They have stuff that we don't." She walked close to Javier, "I want to smush him under my heal. I don't want him to see the light of day ever again." She pulled a cigarette to her lips and lit it with a small match puffing on it harshly. "We all do. But I can't let you kill him. That's our job." She rolled her eyes, "I know you want to avenge your husband. But killing Escobar will make things much harder for me and you. You have enough knowledge to end him without killing him. I talked to some people. If you fess up you'll be Granted citizenship In the states and free transportation, a new identity to start a new life." Javier pulled a cigarette from his jacket pocket and put it in his mouth. He picked up his lighter and flicked it letting the smoke emerge from the rolled white paper. "What makes you think I want to go to The states agent Peña?" He sighed, Berna spoke up. "Judy, think about this. If they fly you in you'll have protection from the government. And you wolnt be prosecuted. It's a good chance." She huffed, "it is... but it's not enough." Her fists clenched, Javier stepped forward to her and leaned close to her ear, "think about it." He handed her his DEA laminated card with his office number. "Call here and you'll take a plane out." He walked off quickly and was escorted back to his car where he reversed out of the drive way and back down the long dirt road.

You sat on the couch for a long time. It was very late, 2:15 AM to be exact. You refused to wash your face or change because if you did it would make you fall asleep from unwinding. You blinked hard and each time it hurt from staring at the door for too long. Was he with a woman? Did he finally have enough of you and leave with a shitty excuse? All of the worst possible thoughts trailed across your mind. It felt like TV static was in your ears progressively getting louder and louder. Was he in trouble? Was he hurt? Killed even? The thoughts had gotten worse, why did he leave? Is it because of you? Did you do or say something to hurt him? You rubbed your face and letting your hands hold your head up, your eyes felt heavy and your body relaxed. But your mind wouldn't allow you peace. You blinked hard and rubbed your heavy eyes one more time, feeling their tenderness and the salty water trail down your cheeks. You where over stimulated and felt that deep lump in your throat get and larger. You got up quickly to walk to the small fridge and pulled out a water bottle, chugging it down quickly and taking a deep breath, then drinking the rest. You turned to stare at the door, something told you to at least walk around the building and see if anyone had seen him. You put on a jacket and slid on some sandals and waddled outside the door. You checked the doors, seeing if anyone was making those kinds of noises. Silence. You then walked down stairs and knocked on the landlords door to see if he had quietly came back in. He shook his head, but offered you a cigarette and lit it which you happily took. You walked outside and checked around the building, some people where standing leaned up aginst the wall of the building. A few people where talking, they didn't bat an eye at you. You walked down the street a ways to see if Javier's car was parked in the same spot. It was not. You waited on the curb of the small side walk and took a deep breath inhaling the smoke from your cigarette. Head lights shined brightly as they had Gotten closer and closer to you. Your eyes squinted and watered from the sensitivity. A large car pulled into the spot that Javier parks in. The car turned off and a familiar shape exited the front seat. Tall, thick mustache, dark eyes, large arms and a broad back stared at you. He approached you and wrapped his large arms around you. "What are you doing? I told you to stay inside it's not safe for you to be out here alone. At night." You pulled away from him. "Javier. Do you have any idea what time it is right now. It's 2:24 in the morning. You left around 5, what could you possibly be doing "at work"." Your fingers did the quotation twitch-" for almost 9 hours??" He stormed off and started to walk back to the building flicking his dead cigarette from his lips onto the ground. You followed him angry up the stairs and he let him self into his apartment and shut the door hard behind yourself. "Don't turn your back on me Javier." He stopped to look at you, "I lost track of time, I was busy with important matters." You crossed your arms across your chest, "what important matters?" He sighed, "you wouldn't understand." Your eye brows raised and you watched him walk back to his room. "Well. Then you would understand if I just went home for tonight. Thank you for offering me your space." You pulled out a small bag of yours and started to stuff it full of the clothes you had brought over to javis. He stared at you with tired eyes, you put the rest of your items in your bag. "You know where to find me." You hurriedly walked out of his room, and he followed behind you. "You can't leave. You're safer here." You glared back at him. "Its my home, I'm a grown woman and I can do whatever I want.", "you're on a government watch list for a reason. It's dangerous and you are a sitting duck if you spend anytime alone." You looked back at him. "Javier. I can take care of my self. It's late and no one is coming. You and everyone else are delusional, it's because Im a woman isn't it? Because I can't take care of my self and i need a Strong man like you to save poor me!" Your tone became sharper and louder. "You don't understand that you could get hurt if you where alone for too long, even worse." His tone raised as well. "It's my home Javier! Mine! The only place I've ever felt safe. I wouldn't even consider this a home to be honest." You pulled his door open and walked
Down the hallway and he followed you. "You can't just up and leave like nothing is happening.", "Javier. I'm at my front door. Nothing IS happening right now." You turned to him as you opened the door. "I think you should leave me alone." His brows furrowed, "why should i? It's not safe. You're still sick and weak. Anything could happen." You walked into your apartment and shut the door leaving Javier to stand outside your door. His muffled voice carried in though the thin door. "Fine, do whatever you want for all I care." His voice was deep but loud. You heard heavy foot steps loudly leave your front door then a loud slam, then silence.. a loud, thick silence. A silence that was a unfamiliar visitor in the yellow tinted hallway and the sound of buzzing from the old light bulbs. You slumped against the door and sank down to your knees. You wrapped your arms around your legs and hold your self tightly as silent tears trickled down your intricate face. Your eyes reddened and your body contorted to protect its self from the outside world. You pulled your head up and whipped your eyes, salty wetness coated your hands and thick snot sunk down from your nose and you whipped your nose on your shirt. You stood up and walked to your room, tossing the bag you had taken from Javier's onto the couch on the way to your bed room. You slumped face down onto your bed making you look like a sea star. Your pillows cradled your pounding head providing it comfort and reassurance. Your hair wrapped around your face, bonded to your face by salty tears and pulled by the pressure your body on its opposite side. You sat up on your forearms and brushed your hair from your face and pulled it back. You sat up on your knees and pressed your hands to your face covering your eyes and mouth, allowing your nose to stick out. Javier worried you, he angered you as well. You understood he had a very demanding job and these kinds of things where normal. But something felt different, Javier had been out a few times since being in your presence. He was only gone no longer than 4-5 hours , but nothing as drastic as this time. Where you too harsh? Where you being unreasonable? Where you over reacting. No. No you weren't, Javier leaving was fine but he was gone for way too long and "refused" to tell you where he went. He didn't tell you when he came back late. You stayed up worrying about him the entire time he was gone. Your eyes felt heavy, but your mind raced with bipolar thoughts, going back and fourth if you needed to apologize to him or not.

Your alarm clock awoke you early, you lazily gotten up and slammed the off button with your hand hard. You kept feeling around for the button trying to get the blaring beeping to stop. Your hand aggressively pulled on the attached cord that was plugged into the wall out. You let out a deep sigh appreciating the silence, the beeping ringing in your ears. You rubbed your face and sat up in your bed, letting your eyes adjust to the darkness. Your eyes trailed to your window, the sky was still dark, more of the dark blue shade the sky turns when the morning sun starts to peek though the mountains. It didn't come, light rain drops trickled down your window, the pitter patter of the rain calmed you. You swung your feet over your bed trying to feel for your slippers. Realizing they weren't there. You groaned and gently stood up, stretching before doing so. You slowly walked into your living room to search the bag that you had taken back last night looking for your slippers. You sat down on the couch and slid them into your feet. You flipped one of your lamps on and walked over to your kitchen to dig though your small fridge in search of a water bottle. There was a small one tucked behind the milk, your hands engulfed the small bottle and you opened it and took a sip which nearly emptied half the bottle. You walked to your window and watched the busy street below you, umbrella moved up and down on opposite sides of the road. You walked over to your couch and grabbed a blanket wrapping it around yourself. Soft foot steps walked by your door, then silence, a soft knock. Javier, probably. You walked over hesitant to open the door but did it anyways. You where met with your landlord. A short man, thick grey hair, big belly and a cheerful smile with a handlebar mustache that was perfectly styled every morning. "Hi Mr. Juarez, what can I do for you?", "oh just going around getting this months rent, do you have it?" You nodded and stepped away for a moment to grab the envelope that held your check for the month. You walked back to the door and handed it into his wrinkled, shaky hands. He gave you a warm smile and walked slowly down to the next door, you pushed your door and walked back to your couch, you stopped when you didn't hear the click of the door. You turned with furrowed eyes to see the warm light pouring into your apartment. A foot was held between the door and the wall. You walked over to the door and slowly opened it reveling an exhausted javier. His tired dark eyes scanned your body, you silently opened the door and he let him self in. You shut the door behind him and he walked to your table and pulled out a chair to sit down on.

"Hi."
