C H A P T E R 61

The doctor replied by telling me that I needed to stay a few weeks before she explained further and left the room.

"The perfect spot... He didn't shoot any vital organs or important muscles ?" He raised his eyebrows immidietly after the door slammed shut.

"Can we not do this right now ?" I took his hands into mine, kissing the both them. "Please ?" I pouted as I looked at him.

He replied with an okay before pecking my lips.

Kiara gave me a packet of chips before I munched them down. They told me all about what they did when I was conscious.

I know it's his responsibility, but I honestly can't thank Kenny enough for taking care of them. He was probably stressed out about me each passing second, but he somehow managed to take care of the kids.

"I'm going with you back to the hotel tonight."

"You wanna escape ?" He smirked.

I chuckled. "Yes."

I opened the door when I heard a knock and was met with one of the hotel stuff in a uniform. He greeted me, rolling the table inside the room, placing it in the middle before leaving after I gave him a tip.

I opened the lids on the plates and was met with what I ordered. Garlic bread- topped in chicken pie for me, mac and cheese for Kiara and Kai. I gave the twins their plates and they dived in while looking at the movie Ratatouille on TV. I also took mine and sat on the couch with them.

It was just two days after I got discharged from the hospital, or I discharged myself from the hospital. We were staying at the hotel in Italy and planning to stay for a few more days. Just until we find out who attempted to kill us.

My wound is healing just shockingly fine. A bullet wound usually takes months to heal. I think I've become insanely resistant to pain. I can even walk or stand properly. I'm soo proud of myself.

"Mom you know my MMA tournament is this Saturday right ?" Kai asked as he put the empty plate on the table.

Tournament, I completely forgot about it. "Yeah, I remember. Don't worry we'll get back home before this Saturday okay ?"

He smiled nodding then looked back at the TV. My phone dinged and I opened it, viewing Kenny's text.

Kenny : Are the kids asleep ?

Me : no, why ?

Kenny : I'll explain everything, just make sure they're in their room when I get in.

I put phone away, standing up to put our plates in the room service table.

"Okay guys it's past your bedtime, come on." I switched off the TV.

"But the movie isn't over." Kiara complained crossing her arms.

"You've seen this movie a hundred times, you know how it ends." I took both their hands leading them to the room they were staying in. "Plus you can finish it tomorrow morning."

They both continued to complain about how unfair I was while they brushed their teeth and I changed their Pyjamas.

"Which book am I reading today ?" I asked as I tucked them in.

"Little red riding Hood." Kiara responded excitedly.

"No, we read that one yesterday." Kai opposed.

"That was Three pigs and a Wolf." She corrected.
