"Good afternoon friends and family, from all over the east coast! My name is Ben Sauve and welcome to the Sauve Social.

Joining me as always I have the esteemed Juniper Jeffries from D.U.
Dora a Project Manager of  D'Lawerence endangered delinquents.
Manny Archibald who is part of Street Force. Last but definitely not least we have Carol Tambour one of our classmates.

Friends I am so glad we gathered today. Let's get right into it shall we.
Thank you Ben for inviting me to the show.
Oh it's not just any show Carol, this show sparked a whole new development within D'Lawerence University.
Right, I forgot about that Theodora, it was definitely something to witness.

For those of you who don't know, or simply forgot. Our social media show/podcast or whatever some may wanna call this, started in our first year of university way before we became so versed in the field.

Carol, our presence grew throughout the University because of our determination to look at all of our current student issues and compare them to other students and get talking!

Exactly Dora, wow just to remember how young the four of us were. Babies I tell ya. (Juniper says)

I remember us sitting in our first home room. Professor Jacobi dug deep into his work within the hospitals, promoting some passion within you Ben.

Right, I certainly loved that Jacobi worked in the hospital setting as that's where I wanted to end up.
   Hey you still could Ben.
Carol, we are so grateful you made it back to us. Ladies and gentlemen, Carol ended up developing cancer and had to leave our program.

I found myself drowning each day in the cancer unit and begging god to end it. The pain, the medication and the lack of self worth.

Class, let me tell you that Social Work or Human Service is not for the faint of heart

Class, let me tell you that Social Work or Human Service is not for the faint of heart.
I look around the room at all of you and I don't see future leaders. I see tired almost midlife crisis people who are looking to save the world.

Rose coloured glasses, I've been saying this for as long as I can recall.

You seem to be a seasoned ignorant one, what's your name?
Stefano Benedict Sauve.
Ahhh yes. You are the one from the Nord.
You've got my portfolio Professor Jacobi.
Class this is Mr. Average 2.4 who comes from the orphanage who grew up learning how to ruin everything that loves him. The one with all the answers, and the one who will not make it!

(No one in the class laughs.
No one moves an inch.
No one corrects the professor)

I can continue with most of your portfolios. However you all are here for a reason and that's to share your life experiences and build a better tomorrow!
This field is not meant for the people across the hall. This field is barely made for me. What I do know is that the ones with the most fucked up lives do well.

(Professor looks back at S.B.Sauve)
Someone who is not academic. Someone who is not mentally stable. Someone who sees through rose colored glasses no more.

That evening S.B felt smaller than he had in a long time. Carol met up with him in the commissary and sat with him. She didn't say anything she simply sat with him in his silence.

There was something to be said about the sadness that overtook S.B.

Juniper appeared to be this delectable blonde bombshell who happened to be in this progressive GATE class. She sat in the middle of the commissary all glamorous and fragmented.

Do you remember what we used to call geeks in high school?
Well Theodora appeared to be one of them. She was super put together and had all the right answers in class. She was always around the pool hall after classes and continued to shine in side projects. Extra curricular was her thing. Fire red hair with a zest for life.
Yet her picture ended up on University Gazette and half the geek crowd dishonoured her deeply. Theodora continued to uphold her reputation and never let her face cream crack under pressure.

September and the leaves fall curiously to the ground.
The internet has taken over the minds of students in Universities all over the world. A drastic change to the atmosphere then any of this class of mid life crisis adults ever would've expected from what they seen on television.

Noise...
The friends find each other in the midst of the scandal which is fucking life. As noted on the gazette cover page exposing Dora's chest.
Noise...

I closed my eyes and remembered being in my first car. A mall parking lot.🅿️ CD covers were used alongside mirrors which my first love and I used to snort cocaine.
The poet broke me.

The snow fell September 20th

She was a porn star. She's now married with three kids and a husband who has no idea.

Juniper struggles with her anxiety which is transparent with her indulgence in fashion, Sephora and Botox.

A stonewashed Jean panted east coaster is overcome with extreme heat as she collapses in the commissary for all to see. As though the whole common area froze. The television channel took me back to a time where one could edit a scene and change the event.

I was wrong. Nobody cared.
Carol disappeared. I ran to see if she was ok but when I unfroze myself from my memories it was 10pm and the arena as I called it was empty.

I looked outside to see the heavy clusters of flake colliding with the grey cement. I can see how I amputated my brain all those years ago.

I wipe my nose. Phantom feelings. Bloody nose.
