"We'll catch you up on the way, now we're going shopping for Maddie and Adam's party." I said excitedly as I called the waiter to pay the bill.
***
"So.. who's gonna be at this party ?" Max asked showing me an orange dress and I shaked my head no.
"Well, from my side it's gonna be you, Blue, Cindy, Althea and her twin." Maddie replied also looking through the dresses. "From Adam's side, Devon, Luke, Reginald, Cory."
"Ohhh and Sebastian." Maddie purposely added last, looking at me. They both laughed as I pretended to gag.
"Now that you want nothing to do with Kenny, why don't you give the poor guy a chance ?" She chuckled.
"Ewww." I glared at her. "No."
"I swear there's no guy as patient as Sebastian."
"If he continues being Pantient." I emphasized with air quotes. "He'll find himself forty years later, no wife, no kids, alone because he was busy being patient with Blue."
Sebastian is Adam's friend who won't get rid of his hope that me and him might end up together. They call it pantiece, I call it obsession. If a girl rejects you more than ten times, even to a point where she threatens to kill you if you don't stop, get the fucking idea and scrap. He's been trying to get to me for atleast three years now, and it gets more irritating every time. Yes he's an attractive looking guy with a successful career, but he's just not for me.
"Weren't you the one that said you wanted to move on ?" Maddie asked.
"Yes, but if I wanted to try this dating thing it would be with someone a little... Exciting ?" I took the cute silver dress, putting it on top of the couch with my other choices.
"Sebastian is exciting." Maddie said and Max cracked up. Like full on loud laugh, hands on his stomach as he bent down.
"Wow you're so funny Maddie." He said releasing a chuckle as he composed himself. "Ohhh you were serious ?" He looked at Maddie's serious expression.
I also let out a chuckle looking between the both of them. "Even Max can see how uptight Sebastian is."
"Yes he's a good guy but come on Madds." Max said and we both let out a laugh. "The guy looks like he knows where his birth certificate is. He's too responsible and boring and simple... The complete opposite of what Blue or me would want in a man."
"You don't want him because he's a good guy ?" Maddie narrowed her eyes looking at Max and I.
"I for one know he'd bore the hell out of me." I mumbled loud for them to hear.
"Typical feminine behaviour. You guys are after the bad boys, you're attracted to the players, the heartbreakers." She replied. "But when those bad boys break your hearts, it's the job of the good guys to mend you. You'll wanna settle down with the same good guys you called boring. That time the bad boys had already chowed your hearts and pussies."
"Woow why you getting so personal ?" Max joked with his eyes widened at Maddie.
"I'm not getting personal, I'm just stating facts." She uttered. "And the good ones won't want you after the bad boys are done with you. Then boom, you wake up forty years later, no kids, no husband, alone because you let a man that would treat you right slip away."
"Well I don't agree with you." I told her. "If the bad boys make me happy then I'd gladly chase after them. At the end of the day it's about my happiness. I won't settle just because I want a married life forty years from now."
