Chapter Two
By the time hockey practice ended, I was covered head to toe in sweat. Yeah I know what you're thinking. 'You're on ice, how are you sweating?' Well trust me, if your coach worked you the way ours did, you'd probably die. Hockey is not an easy sport. I've been playing for all 20 years of my life, and it still exhausts me. Don't get me wrong, I love the fuck out of it, but it'd be nice to not sweat like a pig for three hours every day.
"Alright boys, bring it in!" Coach clapped, signaling us to come huddle up. We all skate down the rink, to where coach is standing. The various smells of my teammates didn't bug me anymore, we all know each other way too well. "Listen, we won our last game but that doesn't mean that we get to slack off. And based on what I was seeing out there, the only one who cares about this is Kouris! What's going on guys?"
I spoke up, "I think we're all just excited about our last win, and I know we're all sorry. We'll do better tomorrow, Coach Robbins."
The guys around me nodded, silently thanking me for not mentioning the stupid party tonight. Coach hates when we party, he thinks we get too drunk to focus the next day. Which is true.
Personally, I hate the parties, but I still go because I'm captain and I'm expected to be there.
Coach stares at me, slightly glaring, as if he can see right through me. "Fine. Go shower guys, have a good night. I expect your undivided attention tomorrow."
"Yes coach." We all chorus, leaving the rink to go to the locker room.
I joined Hunter and Kale, my two best friends, as they walked down the hall. "Dude I swear, Ronnie is so excited right now," Hunter exclaimed, texting as he walked.
Ah Ronnie, Hunter's long term girlfriend. They've been together longer than I've known Hunter. I met Hunter freshman year of high school, and Kale the year after.
"What's going on with her?" Kale questions.
"Apparently they got a new neighbor, and she's coming to the party with them tonight. Ronnie said she's hot. Maybe we can finally convince Foster here to settle down." Hunter gave me a big grin and slapped me on the back.
I glared at him. "Hunt, you know I'm with Serena right now. I'm not looking." I shook his hand off my back and sat down in front of my locker, taking off my jersey.
"Whatever bro, one day I'll get you to settle down," Hunter jokes. I knew he wasn't serious, he was my best friend when Chloe cheated on me. He knew why I didn't do relationships, especially now that I'm one of the biggest college hockey stars. My thing was keeping a girl until I got bored. Currently, that was Serena. I've been fucking her for about two months now, I met her the first day of my sophomore year of college. I am starting to get a little bored. Maybe I will check out this new girl, I'll see if she's my type.
