I spotted a hallway and let myself roam down it. I opened the first door I came across and saw a fairly nice sized room, with large windows as well and a small walk-in closet. 'Hm, maybe I could make this a nice little studio for dancing,' I thought. There was also a small bathroom with a door that led into the room and one that led into the hallway.
I followed the hallway some more and walked in the only other door, which would be my bedroom. It was huge, with space for at least a king sized bed. I walked into my new bathroom, and gasped when I saw the tub. 'Oh my god, with this tub I think I could fit my entire body under the water. My boobs and my knees are gonna fit!' I squealed at the thought of that. Through the bathroom, on the left was my new closet. It had more space than I had the clothes for.
'This is amazing.' Gazing around my new room, I dreamed of everything I was going to fill it with.
As I was putting away the clothes and the few toiletries I brought with me, I heard my doorbell ring. Opening the door, I see two tall men, carrying a huge box.
"Hello, is this the home of..." the dark haired man on the left looked down at a paper in his hand, "Layla Kennedy?"
Confused, I said "Yes, how can I help you?"
"We have a furniture delivery for you."
"Oh I didn't-" suddenly my phone started ringing. I looked at the men apologetically and said "I'm so sorry, let me take this."
I turned away from the door, grabbing the phone out of my pocket. Glancing at the screen, it says Penny. I accepted the call, knowing where this was going.
"Hey sis! Just to let you know, I bought you some furniture. Yanno, a couch, bed, TV, the works," my older sister said. I could hear the smile in her voice. God I missed her already.
"Penny! You didn't have to do that, let me pay you back for it please," I said. I used my shoulder to hold my phone, while turning to the men outside and allowing them inside.
"Layla, no. You moved halfway across the country, to a bare apartment, plus my love language is gift giving! Let me do this for you," she pleaded.
I rolled my eyes. As much as I love my sister, she can be manipulative in the best way possible. "Fine, I'll accept it. How are you doing without me? Did you already turn my room into a craft room?" I joked.
Penny laughed, "No not yet, I'm moving everything in there tomorrow." I didn't doubt that.
The two men were inside my room putting together my new bed frame, so I followed suit, just to see what my sister had picked out for me.
"Oh Penny, it's beautiful!" I squealed as I saw the beautiful pastel pink headboard my sister picked out for me. It looked like it was velvet, and it had to have been expensive.
"You're welcome baby sis," Penny sang into the phone. "Now, I gotta go, so enjoy the rest of your day, don't have too much fun without me!"
I rolled my eyes, "Like it's possible for me to have any fun without you. I love you. Call me some other time this week and let me know how the date with your mystery girl goes!"
Penny giggled, and I figured she was blushing. She hasn't told me anything about this girl, except that she's beautiful. "I will! I love you sis, bye!" She hung up the phone before I could answer.
I noticed that the men were done building the headboard and were moving to go back outside.
'Probably going to get the couch,' I thought to myself. I rushed up to my new bed and laid down on it, bringing my knees up to my chest. I could get used to this.
