"Yeah, (Y/n)?" He said. I sighed and pointed at his leg. He gasps and begins to act like it hurts again.

"Your leg isn't broken at all, is it?" Steven asked, not believing what he was seeing.

"It was broken, but you fixed it back at the car wash." Dad admitted. I scuffed, he frowned.

"Do you have any idea what you've done?" I asked, not letting him answer. "Steven lost his healing powers."

"What?" Dad said, shocked.

"Because you messed with my head!" Steven cried, clenching his hair in his hands.

"No! I, I didn't mean too. I just wanted to live with my kids again." He said, I sighed and inched my brow.

"I was finally feeling like a crystal gem... now what if I can't do anything?" Steven asked no one.

"Steven, this is my fault." Dad sighed.

"Yeah. Yeah, it is! Ugh! What am I going to do? My powers, they're..I'm sorry. I-" Steven began.

"Dad!" I shouted as I saw him run to the worp pad with his tool box in hand.

"It's time for me to fix the trouble I've caused." Dad said, blowing into his flute. Activating the worp pad.

"No!" I shouted.

"Dad!" Steven shouted, we broke out into a run and jumped into the worp's light. Soon enough we're at the geodo, dad runs down the crater.

"You two get out of here!" Dad shouted, as he looked in his tool box. "I'm responsible for this!"

"No! You're not-" Steven began.

"But I messed up your powers!" He reasoned. "I did everything I'm not supposed to do and now you can't heal!"

"I healed you, right?" Steven pointed out.

"Hey, get in there and patch things up like you did for our old man." I said giving him a thumbs up.

"Double healing powers!" Steven said as he licked both hands and slapped them on the rock- nothing happened. "It's still not working!" Steven shouted.

"Ah, forget it! I've got another idea! Dad, your duct tape!" I shouted.

"Exactly what I was thinking, little star!" Dad smiled, calling me his nickname he made for me. "There. See? Almost as good as new." Dad sighed. I chuckled and pulled them both into a hug.

"Good job, dad." I said, patting his back.

"No way..." Dad gasped as Pearl explained to him what she was able to fix on the van. I stood with Steven, Garnet and Amethyst.

"Keep trying, you'll get it back." I resurred Steven. I could tell he was still kicking himself for not getting his powers back. He looks up at me and smiles. Starting from that day on dad stayed in our front yard in his van and we shared a goodnight every night.

I was breathing heavily. I kept running but I could see an end to this waste land. It was the same dream as last time when we went to find Lapis. Gray sky and thunder clouds- a desert under my feet and a deafening silence around me. However this time the diamond mark didn't show up on my skin. But I could see the black figure in the distance- no matter how much I ran it wasn't getting closer nor was I getting any farther.

"Who are you?" I whispered, not thinking it could hear me, blinking it was gone and I could hear breathing behind me. Before I could turn around to see their face- their hand wraps around the back of my neck. Lifting me off the ground I swing my legs and dig my nails into their hand, but they didn't even flinch. All they do is whisper in my ear.
