"Guys?" Steven called out to.
"What are you doing?" I asked. She didn't answer but she did wave her hand towards the ocean, causing it to part ways- making a path through the water.
"They aren't going to let us leave." Lapis said, she held her hand out to us.
"They won't hurt you." Steven said, trying to sort everything out.
"Let them go, please." I begged, Lapis looked at me and then at the gems. She sighs but lets them go- before the gems could attack her I moved before thinking. Stepping between them and her, Garnet looked shocked that I was against her- but I stood my ground.
"(Y/n), move." Garnet said behind clenched teeth. I furrowed my brows at her and shook my head.
"Don't trust them, (Y/n). Steven." Lapis said, the path she made closed up as she walked into the water.
The only sound that was heard was the crashing of waves, the singing seagulls and winding hitting us.
"What now?" Amethyst asked.
"We're grounded?" Steven asked, as we sat at the kitchen island. A plate of breakfast in front of us, Steven with a cup of juice and me with a cup of coffee while Pearl towel dried the dishes.
"Yes, grounded. You both disobeyed an order." Garnet said with her arms crossed as she stood on the other side of the island.
"Now we're gonna bury you guys!" Amethyst said with an evil smile as she held a shovel. "Till you've learned your lesson."
"Not how grounding works." I said, sipping my coffee, the front door opened and in walks Dad, a worried look on his face.
"Dad?" I called, he pointed behind him.
"Uh, you guys better come check this out." He said.
"W-w-wha?" Pearl stuttered as we walked outside only to see nothing but sand.
"Huh." I said, ruins of past ships and rubble ruined by the salt water.
"Wait. What the…" Steven said, looking at the beach only to see the mayor and the locals looking at the dried ocean.
"Come on." I said pointing at the growing crowd. The gems, Steven, Dad, and I walked to the group- Mayor Dewey spotting us and running towards us with a megaphone in hand.
"Hey, it's those magical ladies! What's going on here?" He asked, his suit jacket already stained with sweat.
"The ocean is gone, obviously." Garnet said. A laugh slipped out of my mouth but Pearl lightly nudged me, shushing me with a playful smile on her lips.
"That's right." Dewey said, ignoring my laugh. "Now it's just a desert, no one wants to take a vacation to… Desert City! Aw, we're gonna lose all our summer business!"
"And all the beach babes, aw!" Lars cried, Sadie and I rolled our eyes. Why she liked him was unknown to me.
"And my pizza!" Mr. Fishstu added in.
"Who's gonna buy my fries?" Mr. Frymen chimed in.
"Who's gonna have fun at funland?" Mr. Smiley panicked still with a smile on his face.
"As mayor, I demand you explain this immediately!" He shouted. After explaining to the mayor and surrounding people about who had done this and what will be done we went back home to figure out a plan. Connie had met us at the beach and came with us to the house.
"How could I have known the gem contained in that mirror would be so powerful?" Steven asked. I ruffled his hair as he stared out the window.
"You couldn't have known, besides it's much as my fault as it is yours. More mine since I did tell you to pull her out." I said. Steven turned around and gave me a look- without any words we shared a nod. The look in his eyes was determination and pride to make-up for our mistake. Steven grabs his bag while I call for Loin.
