"Hey, it's okay. They're not gonna hurt you." Steven said to it, nodding. I slowly make my way towards Steven and the mirror. Kneeling down to his height, he tilts the mirror to face me and I clear my throat.

"...Hello. It's nice to meet you. Um, my name is (Y/n)." I waved to the mirror, for a moment it did nothing, but a second later it used my voice to greet me.

"Hello, nice to meet you." It said, Steven smiled and I smiled back. Grabbing the mirror from his hands I turn it over and see the cracked blue gem.

"If it's a gem, then maybe-" I thought out loud, reaching for the gem but froze up when I heard Garnet raising her voice.

"(Y/n)! Don't!" Garnet shouted, I stopped my movements and slowly looked over my shoulder. There standing in a fighting stance was Garnet with Amethyst and Pearl standing besides her.

"Why?" I asked, looking between Pearl and Garnet.

"You don't know what'll happen. Just hand over the mirror." Garnet said as she approached Steven and I. With every step she took near us I slowly stood to my full height with Steven behind me, handing the mirror back to him.

"Why? It's not doing anything." Steven reasoned, making his way around me- now standing between Garnet and I.

"You don't understand- just hand it here." Garnet said, holding out her hand- but before Steven could hand her the mirror it used his voice again.

"NNNOOO!" It said, soon enough the room began to fill with the repeated sound of Steven screaming out no and the mix of the gems telling Steven to hand over the mirror became too much. Shutting my eyes tight and taking in a deep breath- slap!

Opening my eyes I gasped when I saw Steven with a raised hand and Garnet's sunglasses on the floor- her three eyes snapped open and she glared at Steven. He tensed up and held the mirror to his chest.

"I'm sorry!" He shouted as he ran out the door and down to the beach.

"That little boy is in big trouble." She said as she summoned her sunglasses. Without thinking I ran after him, the gems shouted for me but I didn't listen, looking around for him I spotted him going behind a giant rock. Running to the rock and peeking over it I see him talking to the mirror, it was telling him to let them out. Walking around the rock and gently placing my hand on his shoulder, the sky turning gray around us and the waves creeping closer to our feet.

"Pull the gem out." I said, Steven jumped and looked back and forth between me and the mirror.

"You want me to?" He asked, I nodded.

"It's a gem, isn't it? Send them for free." I huffed a bit out of breath due to the sudden running. He nods and reaches for the gem- pulling it out of its frame. Looking down I gasped in amazement when I saw the water from the beach form a symbol made of lines and triangles. Steven pulled the gem out of the mirror- a beat of silence passed before it began to glow. Letting it go we saw it form into its body. A woman with short blue hair in a skirt and crop top formed- her gem now on her back. We walked closer to her but stopped when she turned around- her eyes were clear, reflective like a mirror.

"You released me." She said, a sad but surprised smile grew on her face. I raised a brow at her tone.

"Steven! (Y/n)! Get away from her!" Garnet shouted, looking behind me I saw them summoning their weapons. Looking down and back to the gem in front of us- trying to figure out what she meant by that.

"You." She glared as the gems stood a few feet away from us. I placed my hand on Steven's shoulder and pulled him closer to my side. "You knew I was trapped in there but you did nothing!" She shouted. "My name is Lapis Lazuli! And you can't hold me prisoner any longer!" She shouted before summoning a wave of water to the gems, encasing them in a bubble of salt water.
