Chapter 1: The Child

Tony: you will stay with me.

Wade: but you don't want me.

Tony: never said I did. Your life is already bad and you're barely 8 years old. I'm gonna turn that around.

Wade: why?

Tony: because I'm your dad. You may not trust me but in time, we will have a father-son relationship.

Wade: do you mean it?

Tony: yes I do. I'll have to enroll you in school and I can afford to pay any school.

Wade: school is boring.

Tony; how so?

Wade: I learn everything too quickly.

Tony; what you mean?

Wade: I understand everything in every class better than other students.

Tony: hmm. Ok, for now you will take a shower and then you'll go to bed.

Wade: I brought my pajamas.

Tony: good. You'll sleep on my bed until I have your room set up, okay?

Wade: okay.

Tony:<ruffles his hair> welcome home, kiddo.

6 years later

Wade was announced as a Stark a week after Tony took him in. He did have to contact child services to get everything settled and showed he was a responsible enough adult to take care of him. He even showed Carla's letter to them and that's all they needed to give Tony full custody over Wade.

6 years since then, he's now 14 years old and he was a genius. It's crazy to think that a 14 year old finished Medical School but then everyone remembered that he is a Stark, a very gifted Stark, but a Stark nonetheless.

Wade and Tony did had a father-son relationship but it was a... wobbly one as Wade wanted to invent a healing machine that could cure any physical injury instead of going into the weapon business. Tony is salty about it but he still respected Wade's wishes, there's a reason he went into Medical School in the first place.

Wade still had some childish hobbies like collecting every toy from his favorite show/movie series Max Steel. He really loved that show/movie series.

Wade was working on his invention the medigun, Tony didn't really like it since it wasn't a weapon. Wade stayed back at the Manor while Tony went to "accept" some Apogee award before he goes to do some military weapon showcase of his new missile the next day. And by accepting, it means he is doing other stuff like gambling and having fun.

Tony was more careful during the "fun" part since Wade is the only son he needs. Wade has met Rhodey before and Rhodey really likes Wade's ideas as they could also use medical technology in the field and medigun was a perfect invention for the medics.

He heard his dad, yes he does call Tony dad, and he heard a female voice that wasn't Pepper so he knew the drill. Headphones on. A little alert on his desk screen alerted him of someone knocking on the door so he paused the music and opened the door to see Pepper.

Pepper: hey, Wade.

Wade: bedtime?

Pepper: bedtime. If I don't tell you that then you'll be working on your medigun all night long.

Wade: true.

Wade left the stuff how he had it before he went to the bathroom.

Wade: Jarvis? Is my room soundproof?
