I'm stuck telling James who I like. What a day. I discovered that James is in all of my classes, which is a bad thing because it means that no matter where I go, he will be there, too. He will find out my crush if it's the last thing he does. I'm going to have a long year. I entered the common room during my free period. I wanted to get a head start on my homework. Alice smirked when she saw me.

"So, how did your date with Potter go?" she asked.

"W-what date?" I asked.

"He was nearly skipping when he said you have all of your classes together. His eyes had a creepy dreamy look to them. This whole time, he's been staring out the window with a smile on his face." Alice said, smirking at my red face.

"Probably faking." I said, slightly hoping he wasn't.

Why did I like someone who bullied my old best friend and who was arrogant? It just didn't make sense. He was the last person I would have expected to like.

"Oh no, I don't think so. I think he's for real. I mean, he's liked you since our first year." Alice mused.

"No he hasn't." I countered.

"Do you remember the first time he asked you out? It was kind of cute..." Alice said.

I blushed again. I remembered perfectly. We were in our first year. James gave me a necklace and asked me if I wanted to go out with him. I obviously said no, but he insisted that I keep it anyway. I reached inside my robes and I pulled it out. It was a white lily on a golden chain. Alice smiled.

"You've kept it all these years?" Alice asked.

"I suppose." I said.

I don't know if it was my imagination or not, but I saw James grinning from across the common room.

Our next potions class came sooner than I expected it to. As I took my seat, James leaned over.

"Don't forget our deal, Evans." he whispered.

"How could I?" I whispered back.

I began preparing my potion after Professor Slughorn put the procedure on the board. James and I were the first ones to get our potion done correctly. Professor Slughorn beamed.

"Well done! 20 points for Gryffindor." he said.

"Time to smell." James said.

I scowled and smelled my potion. I smelled new books. I smiled. Then, I smelled
lilies, my favorite flowers. Finally, I smelled something that was familiar, but I didn't know from where. It smelled like the forest and nature, but with a touch of cologne. I pursed my lips. I had definitely smelled this before, but where?

"So Evans? Who's the boy?" James teased.

"Well, I obviously smell new books and lilies, but I smell something I don't recognize, too. It feels familiar, but I don't know from where." I admitted. Why am I admitting this to him?? He smiled as if he could see what I was thinking.

"What about you?" I asked.

"Treacle tart, chocolate, and...lilies." he said, lowering his voice at the last part.
His crush likes lilies. I remembered Alice once telling me I smelled like lilies. My eyes widened. It can't be...right? He's just playing around. He only asks me out because I'm the only one at this school besides Alice who would say no to going out with him. James' hand went to his hair. He always does that when he's nervous. How do I even know this? Ugh, I'm such a stalker. I only like him a little bit right? I chewed my lip and tugged on the chain around my neck.

"You've kept that?" he asked. My cheeks burned.

"Maybe..." I muttered.

"You're cute when you're nervous, Evans." he said.

My face got even warmer. My stomach was filled with butterflies. A grin spread across his face. I was saved from saying anything else by Slughorn dismissing us.
When I had a free period, I told Alice what had happened. She smiled.

"He's really nice when he's not being so...arrogant." she said.

"I guess so." I said, shrugging.

"Maybe you should give him a chance. I mean, he's starting to be more mature." Alice admitted.

"Alice, I still don't even know what my feelings are. I mean, I think I like someone...well according to Amortentia anyway, but I can't be sure." I said.

"You'll work it out, Lils. I know you will." she said.

"I think I need a walk. I need some time to sort out my feelings." I said.

"Good idea. How about tonight?" she suggested.

After all of my classes, I went outside to walk for a bit. I tried to sort my feelings, but I only managed to get myself more confused. Suddenly, there was a noise. I took my wand out.

"Lumos." I whispered.

I walked slowly and tried to find the source of the noise. I saw a figure running towards me. It was a werewolf. I screamed and tried to run away from it, but I couldn't. It slammed me down onto the ground. I felt my legs get scraped from the rocks that were there. It scratched me and was about to bite me when a stag and a dog knocked it down. The dog continued to fight it, but the stag motioned for me to move back. It stood in front of me, protecting me from the werewolf. I couldn't help but notice that it's eyes were hazel. I've seen those eyes before. Maybe I'm just losing too much blood. Eventually, the werewolf, the dog, and the stag ran in another direction. I was left alone. I felt myself losing more and more blood. I saw a figure running toward me.

"Evans! Oh my...how much blood...never mind, you don't want to know." a familiar voice muttered.

I was picked up from the ground. I noticed that the figure was James. His hazel eyes were filled with concern. Wait...hazel?

"Evans, you're going to have to trust me. Put your arm around me." James said confidently.

I was too weak to go against it, so I just went with it.

"James..." I murmured.

"James? Wow Evans, there really is something wrong with you." he joked. I could tell he was trying to calm himself down. I swooned.

"Hey...stay focused." he said.

We finally reached the hospital wing.

"Madam Pomfrey! She's hurt." James said.

"Goodness! What happened?" Madam Pomfrey asked.

"Werewolf attack." he said.

"Lie her down over there." she said.

James put me down on one of the beds. Our faces were inches away from each other. The last thing I saw was James putting his hand on my cheek before blacking out.
