Nick's POV:
"Hello?" I answered Andrea's call.
"Hello do you have a minute to talk about the kids adoption?"
I was sitting in the living room with everyone.
Ace was sitting next to me and just started to smile.
Fuck I think he heard.
"Be right back guys." I said and walked out to the porch.
"Ok I'm away from the kids now."
"Ok so you've been approved to move forward with the adoption of all of them. You just have to go to court and get the final stamp of approval. I'm so happy you are doing this."
"Me too. I'll go tell the kids. I wanted to wait until I knew it could happen."
I went back inside.
"Family meeting."
"What's up?" Arlo asked.
Zero paused the TV.
"What would you guys say to making this family complete? How would you feel if I said I wanted to adopt you guys?"
"All of us?"
"Yes everyone."
"We'd all be able to stay together?"
"Yes."
"But I turn 18 in a couple months. Why would you wanna go through the trouble of adopting me?"
"Yeah same here." Xander said.
"You guys seriously think you'd have to leave when you turn 18? We'll still be a family."
"You'd be our Dad?" Maisy asked.
"Legally yes, but you never have to call me that. I love you guys and I really hope you know that, but there is no expectation that you return that love. If nothing else I just want to set you up for a successful future and I have money to help with that. At 18 you won't."
"I think I'd like you to be my Dad." She said.
"Same here." Arlo said.
And it was just a chorus of agreement from everyone.
"Then it's settled. We're family."
We ordered pizza and had a movie night.
Maisy came and sat by me during the movie.
"Thanks Nick." Maisy said walking up the stairs.
"For what?"
"Everything." She said and walked into her room.
God I think I'm gonna cry.
I fucking love these kids.
