Nick's POV:
Maisy is in the middle of the living room spinning.
Literally just spinning.
She's been going for like five minutes.
I hope she doesn't puke.
"Hey Maisy can you take a break, you're making me kinda dizzy." Ace asked.
She just stopped, rubbed her face quite roughly and went upstairs.
I followed her up to her room.
I knocked on her door.
She didn't answer.
"Maisy I'm coming in ok?"
She was spinning in her room.
"Can we chat quick?"
"mmhmm."
She kept spinning.
"What's going through your head right now?"
"It's too much Nick. I can't-I can't take it anymore."
"What's too much?"
"Why couldn't you be my first Dad? Why did I have to go there first?"
"First Dad?"
"You do all the fairytale Dad things. except play catch. Why did I have to be hurt just to live with you?"
"Do you want to play catch?"
"No I don't like things thrown at me."
"That makes sense. The world isn't a fair place. Things happened to you that shouldn't have happened."
"What shouldn't have happened?"
"Your Dad shouldn't have happened."
"Nick?"
"Yeah?"
"The things my Dad did, were they not normal?"
"No sweets. It wasn't."
She stopped spinning and practically collapsed onto the ground crying.
"Then why'd he do it?"
I joined her on the floor.
"Kiddo, he's a despicable man. What he did to you is so far beyond unforgivable that I-I'm at a loss for words."
"I want my Mom." She said and hugged me.
"I know."
