Pagpasok palang ng hotel kung saan magdi-dinner sila Ciara at Mico kasama ang magulang ni Mico ay agad na nakaramdam ng lamig sa buong katawan si Ciara dahil kinakabahan siya.
She shivered and Mico glanced at him while they were walking inside the lobby of the hotel and noticed that Ciara was rubbing her hands up and down her arm, though she was wearing a long-sleeved dress it wouldn't suffice what she was feeling. Mico suddenly reached out and held her hand which made her heart almost leaped out of her chest because of the sudden gesture.
She let out a deep sigh, just to relax herself. Ciara turned to look at Mico and smiled at him.
"You okay?" tanong ni Mico.
She nodded her head and then proceeded to walk towards the hotel's restaurant to finally meet Mico's parents.
Pagkapasok nila sa restaurant ay may sumalubong agad sa kanilang isang babaeng may ngiti sa kanyang labi. She was petite, tall, and had brown hair.
The girl wrapped her arms around Mico's neck as she hugged him tightly. "Hi love, congratulations!" bati nito kay Mico at agad naman ngumiti si Mico sa babae.
When they pulled away from each other, Mico turned to Ciara and pulled her closer to him. "Mom, I would like to introduce my girlfriend," sabi ni Mico.
Nagulat si Ciara doon dahil hindi niya akalain na mommy ni Mico ang babaeng nasa harapan niya.
"This is Ciara Marie Lopez," Mico smiled at her. "This is my mother, Dra. Michelle Nieves."
Ciara smiled at Dra. Nieves stepped forward to shake her hand but Michelle opened her arms and embraced her.
When they pulled away, Ciara greeted her. "It's nice to meet you po, Dra. Nieves."
Michelle chuckled quietly. "Please call me Tita Mich nalang rin. Since ikaw naman ang inspirasyon ng anak ko."
Nagkatinginan sila Mico at Ciara ng ilang segundo bago ibinalik ni Ciara ang tingin niya kay Tita Michelle.
"C'mon," aya ni Michelle sakanila ni Mico. "Your dad's waiting na."
Pinalupot ni Mico ang kanyang braso sa bewang ni Ciara at bumulong sa kanya. "Told you, they'll like you."
Natawa si Ciara at pabirong sinuntok ang braso ni Mico na ikangiti naman ng bintana.
Mico then introduced Ciara to her dad and they had a few minutes of small talk before the food arrived.
Dire-diretso pa rin ang kwentuhan tungkol kay Mico at wala rin namang ginawa si Ciara kung hindi kumain at tumawa dahil sa mga kwento ni Tita Michelle tungkol kay Mico.
"So what do you plan on doing after college, Ciara? If I may ask?" Singit ni Tito Michael, ang daddy ni Mico na isang orthopedic doctor at si Tita Michelle naman ay isang obgyn.
Ciara smiled politely at them. She was actually confident about that question because she was so sure of her future. Alam niya ang tatakhakin niya.
Though her breath hitched when Mico reached out under the table and squeezed her thigh. Malapit na siyang mapamura ngunit pinigilan niya 'yun nang lumigon siya kay Mico at tiningnan siya ng masama nito.
"I plan on going straight to medical school po after I graduate college po."
"Oh, that's good, hiya." Tita Michelle grinned at her as she glanced at Tito Michael, who gave her a nod bago ipinagpatuloy ni Tita Michelle ang kanyang kwento. "Well, tingnan mo nga itong si Mico." Tinuro ni Tita Michelle si Mico. "He's twenty-six but will take up his residency sa States. He wanted to be a Cardiothoracic surgeon. Ganoon rin ba ang plano mo, hiya?"
Wala nang naririnig si Ciara, ang tumatakbo lang sa isipan niya ay ang salita 'States'. "P-po?" Nalilitong tanong niya sa magulang ni Mico. "Aalis po si Mico?" She asked in a small voice.
Nalaglag ang panga ni Tita Michelle, tumitig siya kay Ciara bago nilipat ang tingin niya kay Mico na hindi inaalis ang tingin niya kay Ciara. "Hindi niyo ba napag usapan, anak?" Tahimik na tanong niya sa kanyang anak.
Ciara immediately wiped her mouth with the table napkin and stood up, leaving the table napkin on the table. "E-excuse me po, bathroom lang 'ho ako." She couldn't even recognize her own voice as she said those words. She quickly left the table and ran to the nearest bathroom.
"Babe!" Ciara heard Mico calling out to her pero hindi niya ito pinansin as she covered her mouth with her hand as she burst out crying.
