The following day was the start of Neteyam teaching me so many new things about the Na'vi. He first started with the language. We sat together inside of the hometree and he began to teach me the body parts.

He first pointed to his lips.

"Seyri."

"Seyri," I repeated.

He pointed to his nose next.

"Ontu."

"Ontu," I repeated.

He pointed to his ears and said the next word.

"Mikyun."

"Mikyun," I answered.

Okay, one more," he stated.

He pointed to his golden eyes and looked at me.

"Nari."

I stared for a moment. I couldn't look away from his eyes. It was like they were hypnotizing me. The longer I stared, the more they would dilate.

"Y/n?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Neteyam, who had his head tilted in confusion.

"Hm?"

"Nari," he said again pointing at his eyes.

"Ah yes, nari."

"Good. Now let's run through them again."

He pointed at his lips, nose, ears, and eyes all over again.

"Seyri, ontu, mikyun, nari," I said as he pointed at each body part.

"You are a fast learner y/n. Very easy to teach," he said with a small smile.

"I just want to learn everything that you have to teach me, Neteyam. Your tribe chose me to learn. I don't want to disappoint them," I answered.

"You will not disappoint I promise you that."

I looked down and smiled. It was so nice to hear that I was actually doing a good job. Maybe I was meant to come to Pandora. It sure as hell is better here than back on Earth when I had a boring office job.

"You must have gone to Grace's school a lot to understand English as well as you do," I said.

"Grace said that young minds learn faster than old ones. I started learning English when I was a lot younger. Kiri and I picked up on it quickly compared to the others," he answered.

"What was it like before we arrived on Pandora?"

"Peaceful. There were no troubles. No violence."

"One thing to know about humans is that we bring violence wherever we go."

"You are not like that though. You are like us. You stay away from trouble."

"I try to. It's better to be peaceful than to fight."

"Others don't seem to think that way. We learned that the hard way."

Neteyam lowered his head and glanced to the side, appearing to be thinking about something.

"Did something happen?" I pressed.

"A long time ago, yes. Before you came here." He said sadly.

"You don't have to tell me."

"No, it's okay. You understand that there are bad people here on our planet. It was long ago when we used to go to Grace's school. The other sky people with machines came to the school and attacked us. Some died and many were injured, including myself."
